A Love Spring of Summer

“You promise!” you promise that we’ll go see the firework Katsuo! Sob, sob, sob, sob! Hic! Hic! Hic! I’m sorry Nakamura-chan but I really don’t know you. Nakamura had the beautiful white silver hair and bright blue eyes she was short but to my shoulder only and was just so cute. Dressing in a yukata standing on the top of the hill looking at the firework bloom. Huh why am I dreaming, can I see your cell phone really quick to check the time Nakamura.

Okay, Katsuo. What! The date! It can’t be! 2015? No way at this time I was in eighth grade during this time. Wait! Miku! Can I tell you something.

Blank dark pitch visions at 7 o’clock in the morning

Wake up Sato, it’s morning time to get dressed and have breakfast.

Huh! You look sweaty and confused? What happen Sato? I don’t know Akiko? I really don’t know, I thought I was dreaming but it all seemed to be too real. What are you talking about Sato? Any ways I’ll be downstairs if you need anything just call ok.

“Was it really that long that I forgot about her?” During that one summer before going to high school. Miku how could I forget you and my promise that I’ve made to you. I’m such an idiot! Hic! Hic, hic, hic.

Akiko, comes around the corner of Katsuo door and hears him crying.

“I wish I can do something for him, I feel bad for Sato.” Only if I could do something about it then he might be good from his dreams. Mmh? Katsuo can I come in? Y-yes! As he tries to wipe his tears away. Katsuo what happen in your dream? Question Akiko, I don’t know I was asleep and then someone woke me up and I found myself in the open forest by the shrine at the highest hill and there was a girl. Someone I know from the past, she used to be my childhood friend before we broke apart our own road and went to different school. Her name was Miku Nakamura. You said Miku Nakamura? Yeah, she was gorgeous and helpful, cheerful and popular. Until the end of summer she had left back to her father’s home in the United Kingdom. But anyways it seemed I promised her that I would take her to the shrine at Kyoto to go see the fireworks. But I never came and after that. She never spoke to me ever, and that’s why I was always silent at school and close out anyone that tried to reach out to me.

“Mmh?” Miku Nakamura? I know her too! Huah, really? Yeah I do, she was my best friend when we were kids. We always played with each other as kids, and always stood by each other side. After seventh grade, she told me she had to go to a different school to study different cultures. I didn’t know she came to Japan. After my eighth grade year, I had to go to England, as a high school transfer student. And she was the first one to ever noticed me when I first came to their school. She seemed to already be popular with the girls and I was excited to see her again after a long year. But then during our junior year she had left again leaving me alone. And after that I was once silent like you too Sato, and that’s when my father decided that I needed someone to take care of me. So he came to Japan after my mother had died. And found your mother and here we are now.

“But where did Miku go?” I don’t know but I bet she’s here in Japan.

You think so. I really do. Hey, Katsuo? Yes, wait you finally said my first name. Sorry for calling you by your last name the entire time, but now we’re a family. Yes we are. So what did you want to ask me about. Did you love Miku? Akiko studderty and losing her hold of her voice. I-I do. I’ve loved her since I’ve first seen her at my middle school. She was my first friend and childhood friend. I love her so much and now she’s gone, I hope I can see her again. If only I could, I wouldn’t trade her with anything that’s how precious she is to me.

Okay, I got that Katsuo. Well let’s go eat. You’re right Akiko, let’s go eat.

“Man was that delicious!” Thank you for the meal. No problem son. Hey Katsuo do you want to come to my room? Your room! Do you really want me to Akiko. Yes, I gotta talk to you about something. Okay I’m coming! Does Katsuo really love Miku that much, I love Katsuo too! It’s not fair, I want Katsuo all to myself that’s why I care for him but all he talks about his Miku and what happened to their relationship. Ring! Ring! Ring! I wonder who that might that be? Maybe the mailman but he doesn’t come at this time, it’s way too late for him to deliver at this time.

Who is the person at the door?.....

“Hello, is this the Sato family home.” Yes, wait Miku? I’m your childhood friend Miku. Miku! You came back why though? I just wanted to see someone I love for too long. I didn’t know you move to Saitama, since you actually lived in Kyoto before when I first met you. Miku you don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to talk to you during all of this time. Umm, Katsuo who is was at the door. Wait! Miku? You don’t seem happy to see your best childhood friend. What’s wrong Akiko? How did you get here? I was left with a text from Katsuo that he was living in Saitama before he deleted me from his contact. Wait! I deleted you from my contacts for real!? I don’t remember doing that! Yeah and you don’t remember taking me to the shrine to go see the firework either.

Wait! So that dream that I had was real? Yeah, you talk to me four years ago, it was all real.

So I knew what I had to do. I had to come back to you, you weren’t the only in pain too, I was sorry for myself all these years, when you didn’t remember me.

So now you remember me, why is Akiko here? Oh, hm, she’s my step sister now. I only know her for a couple of months now. Okay, hm, Katsuo I’ll be attending at your high school. You can’t. Why Katsuo? The school is only for magic users. Really? Yeah. Well that shouldn’t be a problem because I can use magic too! Really! Yeah! My family is really good at magic and academics. So I’m really good at school too. So how about you Akiko?

Hm? Well I’m very good at wielding weapons and casting magic power from them when I need to. Woah! You can really do that Akiko, I didn’t even know that you can do that. I might need to practice more than the rest of you guys. Because the Grand Magic Tournament begins in three months.

“Well, you’re not wrong about that my Katsuo.” Hugh? Why are you holding my arm Miku? Why does it bother you? Katsuo makes a very uncomfortable face and nervous face as Akiko looks at them both with jealousy eyes. Or does it bother you Akiko?

“Hm, like I care, do whatever you want.” Akiko leaves the living room and goes outside sitting on the flat floor of the outside porch. As raindrops are flowing on her arms to her hands. Akiko looks up to the sky as the grey clouds aparts to show the bright sun, shining bright light rays out of the skies.

She’s got a strong urge to not tell us something does she Katsuo, well I don’t know but I hope there isn’t anything wrong with her who knows what’s going on in her mind.

“That’s why I like you Katsuo, you’re a very open minded person also very caring of others.”

No, that’s not it I just choose to do what’s right because it’s what I’ve kept to myself about and promise someone who in which I honor very much. And who was that Katsuo? Well, Miku that’s a tale that I will share later okay.

Okay, fine but please just keep that in mind so don’t forget to tell us your tale. Yeah, I promise and I’ll make sure that my comrades will be protected even if it cost my life.

Akiko’s side

I’ll have to keep my promise to my Mother, that I’ll always train to be stronger but that only is not strength, caring or wanting to protect someone who you cherish will be my only source of strength. I want to protect that promise that you made for me Mother and I don’t want to forget that.

As the light rays comes out of the skies and clouds so white and beautiful are blooming in the daylight, Akiko decides to go and train for the upcoming trial of the Grand Magic Tournament. She heads down in town to the school and goes to the dojo room for her kendo practice. Dress in her suit ready to take the first swing on the dummy being targeted. But someone comes in ready to train and dressed.

“Hey Akiko, so you’re here to train too, I guess we both can practice together if that’s fine with you.” Oh, Katsuo-kun I didn’t see that you were here earlier I was the only one here training. Well, that’s not entirely true because I came here first but I was having trouble getting in the school. Until I saw you get in so easily with your hands. Ohh, you didn’t know Katsuo, the school put a warding or magic spell on the students so they could use just to get into the school unless if you don’t, you’ll get shock for breaking in here.

Wow, I didn’t even know that, thank you for the very important information. No problem Katsuo, So are you just gonna stand there and not train with me or what? Okay, let’s get started!

Here I go Katsuo! Yeah and I'm ready for it too! Akiko!
