Ch.3 Does Insurance Cover Everything?

Ch.3 Does Insurance Cover Everything?

I finish my cup of wine and she grabs the bottle and gets up to pour me a glass.

“No no you do not have to do such thing, I can pour for myself just fine. I am no Duke of France or president of America, no need for such behavior around me.”

She insists, “Allow me to act like a woman just once tonight won’t you, I am highly opinionated and headstrong so this is a once in a lifetime chance you hear.”

I sigh jokingly and move my hand allowing her to pour me a cup. “Just this once alright.”

She pours me a drink and I partake in a sip of some before going back to conversation. Half an hour later I feel a bit woozy and tired, “Forgive me but I am dreadfully tired as of right now for some reason, might I ask if we can convene another night, I would like to get to know you more.”

“I’m sorry I was not able to do anything but make you sleepy, allow me to assist you to the car as thanks for such a lovely evening.” She gets up and walks with me out of the restaurant.

“No no it wasn’t you, for some reason that wine might have been stronger then I thought, good wine for that at least.” We get to the valet and she offers to drive me home since I am quite under the weather which I accept.

As we drive based on the crude directions I gave she seemed to talk more, just about her life and what she did during her 5 years in France. It was hard to keep track with how woozy I was feeling but I tried to keep listening to her story.

Oh, I messed up, well damn it blame the romantic inside me for messing up this time. This one was a dud as well mother thanks for getting me into this situation again.

Rachel keeps talking but it seems to have picked up the pace and her eyes widened ever so slightly. I silently took off my seatbelt but held it so it looked like I still had it on. “You know Axel, I think that it was meant to be for us to meet after I just came back from France. With our story too wouldn’t we just be a pair. I haven’t stopped loving you since that day 15 years ago, and I’m sure you forgot about me but it’s ok we can spend the rest of our lives together, right? RIGHT?”

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

Yep shoulda known this was coming. “Yep you are indeed true, but can you step off the gas pedal just a bit we are going a bit too fast.” She had started driving faster as she kept talking.

“Perfect, we can have kids, oh I want 3: 2 girls and 1 boy. You won’t mind that, will you? Although I wouldn’t mind not having kids if it means we can be together forever.”

Great here we go thankfully we took the path where fewer cars drive. “You are kinda freaking me out Rachel, are you ok?”

She laughs maniacally, “What me? I’m just so happy you are here with me now, it was so worth 15 years to get you as mine.”

“I don’t remember saying I would date you, I only said we should convene for a second time.”

“OH?” She looks at me like with dull blank eyes and a unmoving mouth. “Ah you mean cause the 2nd will be the time you confess to me alright what a romantic you are hahaha.”

“You must not be feeling good, let’s get you to our house real nice and quick so I can treat you up real good.” She starts speeding in the direction of a tree.

“Ah, so a tree house is your home, very cost effective I should say. Now was the drink given just a little bit of extra flavor by you perchance?

She looks at me with dead eyes, “Yes just a little sleepy medicine so I can take you home.”

Good so nothing that will kill me, makes this easier. “Ah okay thank you for taking me home, I had fun tonight. Goodbye Rachel.” I let go of the seatbelt and open the door and rolls out the speeding car.

Before she has time to react to me rolling out the car she hits the tree dead on and is flung into the windshield.

“Phew so another crazy tonight huh, I can never catch a break with a normal person can I.” I sigh as I get up from the gravel road. “The only sad thing is that I really liked that car, a shame let’s hope that insurance will get me a new one.”

I grab some things out the trunk of my completely smashed car and walk back and catches a ride to the city to go home.

When I get home I text mother, “Thanks it was a great date, just didn’t end so well. You know the usual when you set me on dates.”

I look at a picture by my bed of me and a cute girl kissing my cheek for a bit, brushing my finger on her cheek before putting it down. If only you were still here baby, maybe I wouldn’t be going through so many life and death situations. I get into bed and fall asleep after a tiring day.
