Prologue - My Morning

----------------------------------------

Welcome to my new story. I hope everyone here has fun with my characters and their world. [Stay alive and know all that you can.]

----------------------------------------

I was once asked a question by what you could call a guardian of mine though really she was just a friend.

"If you had the chance to start a completely new life, what would that life be like?"

Quite a broad question I thought to myself at the time. A new life? What would that life be like? I answered this after several seconds of thinking:

"A new life to me would be making everything I've ever accomplished obsolete whether that be good or bad. If I were to start a new life, I would wish not for what I wish in this life, but a completely new experience that I've never known in this life. It could be a battlefield, it could be illogical compared to now, it could be tragedy, it could be loneliness, it could be a fufilling life. I would have my new life let me expierence what I never can now. Does that answer your question?"

"eh.. interesting answer, but vague. I would like to expierence a standard fantasy world overpowered protagonist style."

"Oi! You asked me not yourself!"

"Ehh too picky."

"Also that's pretty boring isn't it?"

"Don't crush someone's dreams Shin."

"Then don't say boring things Karen."

We laughed at the time of that question but I never thought that question would be answered seemingly by the universe itself.

----------------------------------------

Life. If I had to say it, it's nice to be alive. People always take things for granted. My mom once said, "Shin. Remember this: Life always has troubles." Questioning what that meant I replied, "You're right mom. Yesterday Karen stole my chocolate icecream cone from me. I tried to take it back but she said, 'You've already had three. Let me have some!' I've realized the value of icecream mom. Sooooo can I have some icecream if I work hard?" My mom laughing, replied, "Not unless you work hard at your after-dinner chores. so remember the value..." The week after we visited some sort of home for rest as my child self of eight years old could only interpret it.

"Oi! Wake up Shin, otherwise I'll hit your shin!"

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

I see. It's this situation. Still what a nostalgic dream and self-narration.

"Ugh mom you've let this annoying alarm clock in again......"

"Oi. I heard that."

I feel something. Ah! This is pain! It's on my right arm and my head.

"Ehh!! Stop it! It hurts! Stop the headlock! You've already done enough to my arm. Now you target my head?"

"This is punishment for those who do not know how to respect one's elders."

"Oi. Alarm clock. First, I thought you were going to hit my shin, not my arm and head. *Oww!* Second. Though you may be a year older than me you're in the same grade as me. You don't deserve respect."

"Hey! You don't have to crush my seniority."

"But it's only obvious."

"Yes yes. I'm Karen and not an alarm clock you know!"

"But it's only obvious that you are."

*Slap*

"OWW!!!" (Shin)

"Come down for breakfast once you get dressed for school. Kay?" (Karen)

"Yes commander!" (Shin)

"Good work subordinate of mine." (Karen)

At the very least this alarm clock is effective, if not, too effective...

"Well. Time to get ready for school!"

.

.

.

School. Eh.. School. If I think of school I think of the time when school ends. If I think of the time it's right now 6:30am. If I think of the time my mom gets up and leaves for work it would be 6:00am and 7:30 respectively. If I think of the time I get up it would be 7:20 most of the time... If I think of the time Karen gets up it would be 6:00. Right now it's 6:30am. Look like I need to run downstairs. Mr. Two Story 8 Rooms Building. Please don't let Karen escape.

"Oi commander. You got me up at 6:30. That's about an hour earlier than I need to get up!"

"Shin. Be glad that you got up at all. You know you aren't good at getting up early in the morning." (Mom)

"Kek!"

"You know your mom's right Shin. Be glad I had time to wake you up. My soccer morning practice usually starts at 7:00 but they're delaying it to 7:30. Ah. Thank you for breakfast Mrs. Mckenzie," said Karen as she was sitting down for breakfest, pushing her long black hair down her back revealing all of her above average asian face on her slender yet slightly curved stature at 5'8".

"You're welcome anytime here for breakfast Karen," said my mom looking like beautiful housewife with her apron on standing at 5'3", though I'm not the one to truly appreciate it.

"thank you for breakfast mom..." said Shin also known as the narrator looking slightly disheveled with barely noticiable black bed hair standing at 5'9" with a slender, lean build.

As I got scolded for my ineptitude at waking up I find myself sitting down in the kitchen (large enough for both cooking and eating). The food in front of me is.....

"Alaraze Beef Stew! My favorite! Karen I take back any bad thoughts I may have had and sincerely thank you for waking me up for this amazing breakfast."

"Yes yes but I believe someone else here deserves that thanks," said Karen, sporting a disappointed yet slightly fufilled look.

"Thank you mom for this delicious breakfast," I said, wearing a sincere "THANK YOU" face.

"You're welcome," said my mom glad at my expression of thanks.

And so starts my everyday, fufilling life.

Off to school!!!
