Death isn’tthe End, For Laziness

Death isn’tthe End, For Laziness

"Huh? Where am I?"

As soon as Mark said the words out aloud, he remembered. He was an unemployed person. He mostly lived on his parents money. Until one day, when he suddenly died. He doesn’t know how he died, but he knows he died.

"Human, congratulations. I am the God of reincarnation, and I am giving you...."

A being suddenly started speaking. Mark was in a room blinded by light. He couldn't see anything.

"Huh? Reincarnation? Now why would I want that? Starting all over again....its just too much work."

"What? I, the GOD of Reincarnation, am willing to give you another chance at life, with powers unimaginable and far too...."

"Yes! You don't have to rephrase it, just give me a sit at heaven or hell and I'm good"

The God is pissed off at Mark's behaviour.

"I was in a good mood today. I was going to give you enough power to become a hero in your next life. But since you want to live alone, so be it"

Mark suddenly feels like he is floating, he looks at his surroundings. Everything looks a bit clear now. The lights are now gone. He can feel a cold breeze. He looks down, and finds out that he is falling.

Mark panics. He can't believe it. He can't make out whats happening to him right now.

Mark drops to the ground like a mortar shell. But when he gets up, he is completely unscathed.

He looks around. He finds himself in the middle of a field. Grasses all around him. To his left, a forest brimming with life. To his right, three tall mountains together with the tops of the mountains hidden behind clouds.

In front of him lies a village. The villagers seem as if they are preparing for something. They have some men-at-arms telling them what to do. Some of the villagers are holding a sword. Others are preparing carts of food as if they are leaving.

Suddenly Mark sees some shadow over him. He looks up and finds that a flock of flying monsters are going towards the village.

The monsters are killing the men-at-arms. They are trying to lift the carts full of supplies. The villagers cant bring a single one down. Meanwhile the monsters are taking the villagers upwards one by one and killing them.

"Nope, I am not in the mood to fight monsters right now. Besides, talking with villagers or accepting gratitude from them isn't really my thing. And they look like they can handle themselves. Guess I should move on and find some shelter."

Just like that, Mark never left the area he was transported to after reincarnating. He stayed there for another 200 years.
