Death

It was a dark night in the country of Erenstad, when with absolutely no warning at all, a large flare crashed into the royal palace, causing a massive explosion. In my quarters, the room shook and the walls started to crumple, filling the room with dust. A fellow knight turned towards me with a surprised look on his face, “lord bruto, perhaps it would be wise to check the palace?”, he uttered. I faced him and spoke. “Yeah, we should.”

The knight and I ascended upwards the staircase, our swords at the ready and when we finally opened the gate that sealed the quarters of our room, a thick ploom of smoke swooshed and filled our room with smoke, dust and debris, and clouded our vision. When it cleared, we were met with the dead bodies of the king and queen, surrounded by charred, fiery debris and the mutilated limbs of nearby attendants. Suddenly, the knight next to me, now headless, slumped to the ground and blood pooled around him. My eyes widened in both surprise and immense fear. Immediately, I raised my blade and tried to inspect the dark, nightly surroundings, WOOSH! something flashed by me probably faster than anything an average knight mage could manage, even while enhanced by magic. I was drawn to the conclusion that it was none other than a high ranked magic mage probably working with the king and queen as guards. I drew in air and felt the mana in my body, and used a level-2 spell, bodily enhancement.

Just in time, the same thing dashed towards me, targeting my neck, however I tiled my neck slightly and narrowly avoided death. This sudden move caused the perpetrator to be stressed and a flurry of blows dealt upon my armor, penetrating it and destroying my ribcage, sending me careening into charred debris that burned me over the un-armored parts of my body. I let out a loud, pain filled scream only to be cut off by a blade separating my head from my body. And so, I, Kurosawa bruto, met my untimely demise.
