A Journey Between Worlds
You are now My Champion

You are now My Champion

"My name is Dagda, and you, Elias, are now my champion. I know this is unexpected, but I am in dire need of your assistance," Dagda replied.

Shaken by the response, Elias was left stunned. A champion, at his age? Who would choose someone in their 60s? And what was he meant to be a champion for?

Observing Elias's inner conflict, Dagda flicked his wrist, commanding the mist to shape itself into a long bench.

"Sit yourself down. There is much to discuss," Dagda said, offering Elias a place to gather his thoughts and delve into the profound revelations that awaited them.

With the knowledge he received from the Green stone, Elias knew this to be True.

Dagda a chieftain, a god. Leader of the Tuatha de Danann, and father of many Celtic gods and goddesses.

“Why am I here, What do you need of me?” Elias asked.

“You were summoned to aid me in my time of need”, Dagda replied. “My Champion here is long dead”

“Long ago I chose this relm to store Coire Ansic here”, “I’d hope this sanctuary will its many guardians would protect my cauldron from the greed of those who would steal from me”

As Elias gazed upon the ancient cauldron, a Celtic script came into view, revealing its name: Coire Ansic, the cauldron of Dagda. A sense of awe washed over him as he realized the profound power contained within this artifact, crafted with divine precision. It had the ability to shape destinies and bestow blessings upon those deemed worthy.

Overwhelmed by what he had seen, Elias felt a hand gently placed on his shoulder. It was Dagda, the deity associated with the cauldron. With a comforting presence, Dagda explained the blessing that Coire Ansic had bestowed upon Elias.

Coire Ansic, the cauldron of Dagda, imparted upon its chosen champion the gift of Sight, a profound blessing that not only healed Elias' missing eye but also granted him a variety of remarkable abilities. These newfound powers would enable Elias to navigate his world with unparalleled perception and insight.

One of these abilities was Appraisal. With a single glance, Elias could observe and glean vast amounts of information about items, creatures, or elements. He could discern hidden qualities, strengths, and weaknesses, unlocking deeper layers of knowledge and understanding as he continued to use this ability.

Another gift was Foresight. This heightened sixth sense would alert Elias to potential dangers and misfortunes, acting as an early warning system. Similar to a "Spidy Sense," it would provide him with an uncanny ability to anticipate and avoid imminent threats. Occasionally, this foresight might even manifest as glimpses of the future, offering valuable insights into upcoming events.

Through Enhanced Vision, Elias's sight transcended the boundaries of the normal visual spectrum. He could perceive invisible entities that resided beyond mortal sight, detect hidden objects concealed by magic or mundane means, and see clearly even in complete darkness. This extraordinary ability would prove invaluable in reconnaissance missions, tracking elusive targets, and uncovering hidden truths concealed from ordinary eyes.

Lastly, Hypervision granted Elias extraordinary visual acuity and precision. He could perceive minute details with exceptional clarity, whether from a great distance or up close. This power allowed him to spot hidden weaknesses, identify subtle patterns or symbols, and even read microscopic text that eluded ordinary vision. Hypervision would prove advantageous in tasks such as sharpshooting, investigation, and deciphering intricate codes.

As Elias took a deep breath to absorb this astounding information, Dagda continued by asking him to focus on the ring he wore. Elias complied, and as his concentration triggered the Appraisal ability once again, he felt a familiar sense of being drained.

Crafted by Lugh, [the master craftsman and mage] the Ring of Dagda was a dark iron metal adorned with intricate Celtic runes that seemed to come alive in the light. At its center, a small, dark green emerald glowed with an otherworldly energy. This emerald was not merely a decorative element; it was a small piece of Dagda's own emerald heart, imbued with his power and magic.

The Ring of the Dagda possessed several abilities that Elias would soon come to understand and utilize:

1. Transportation: The ring could transport the wearer to other worlds or realms, allowing swift traversal across vast distances.

2. Storage: Items could be stored within the folds of space created by the ring, enabling the wearer to carry a significant amount of equipment without being encumbered.

3. Conjuration: The ring could summon weapons, items, and tools directly into the wearer's hand from its storage space when needed.

4. Duplication: The ring had the power to create modified copies of items stored within it.

5. Power Source: The dark green emerald at the ring's center held the energy of Dagda's own emerald heart, providing the source of the ring's magical abilities. As long as the wearer remained attuned to the ring's energy, they could harness its power without limitation.

Elias noted that the duplicated items were linked to the ring and could not be passed on or used by others. The ring's abilities were fueled by the wearer's willpower and the energy of the Dagda's emerald heart. The powers were not limited by quantity, but rather by the wearer's imagination and creativity.

The Ring of the Dagda was a powerful tool in the hands of a worthy champion like Elias. With its ability to transport, store, conjure, and duplicate items, it stood as a marvel of craftsmanship and magic. The small piece of the Dagda's emerald heart ensured that its power knew no bounds and held limitless potential.

“Your Heart?” Elias asked, “Yes” Dagda responded with a warm smile, Here in Aethoria , all living creatures have some form of Core, often this Core grows alongside a being Heart. Over time it was just known as a Mana heart. Dagda then went on to give a Description of the world of Aethoria, explaining that with magic many magical races lived here alongside more recognized humanoid races.

“I can.... do magic” Elias muttered

“You can create magic effects using the Magicules stored in that ring, It will absorb the energy of this world, store it, and alongside the abilities and spells you will learn it help you manifest Magic” “Would you like to create fire” Dagda asked.

“SURE” Elias replied

“Fire magic in Aethoria involves the manipulation of magicules to create, control, and shape fire and heat.” “I want you to hold out your right Palm.” “ At the moment your Mana-heart is small and weak, so all the magicules will come from the ring.” “Now think of a Flame, its shape its heat its colour.”

As Dagda explained Elias raised his palm out in front, looking he saw the torches on the caver walls. Using their image he focused and with a wave of his hand, a small flickering flame materialized in his palm. The fire danced and swirled, radiating warmth and a soft orange glow. Elias couldn't help but marvel at the sight before him, feeling a surge of excitement and wonder.

agda smiled, pleased with Elias's progress. "Well done," he commended. "You have successfully summoned your first flame. Now, to control it, imagine it growing larger or smaller, hotter or cooler. Feel the magicules flowing through you and the ring, connecting you to the fire."

Elias concentrated, his brows furrowing in concentration. He envisioned the flame growing taller, its heat intensifying. As he willed it, the flame responded, obediently rising higher and emitting a gentle crackling sound. He could feel the energy of the magicules within him, responding to his thoughts and desires.

"Now, let's try shaping the fire," Dagda suggested. "Think of a specific form you want the flame to take, whether it's a swirling vortex, a delicate flower, or a powerful dragon's breath. Visualize it clearly in your mind."

With that Elias tried narrowing the flame, he constricted it, causing the pressure of the flame to increase. In Elias's mind, the flame had now become more like a plasma cutter.

As Elias narrowed the flame, he concentrated on increasing its intensity and focus. The flickering fire transformed before his eyes, its shape elongating into a thin, concentrated beam of pure heat. The once playful dance of the flame had now become an intense, laser-like stream of fiery energy.

Dagda watched with astonishment as Elias harnessed the power of the flame, shaping it into a potent tool. "Impressive," he remarked, his voice filled with admiration. "You have not only shaped the fire but also honed its power into a precise and formidable form. Your control over the magicules is remarkable."

“How do I stop?” Elias asked.

Dagda nodded, understanding Elias's need to gain control over his newfound power. He gestured for Elias to slowly relax his focus and lower his palm. "To stop the flames, you must simply will it," Dagda explained. "Imagine the fire shrinking and gradually dissipating, returning to the magicules from which it originated."
