Prologue: Where It All Originated

Prologue: Where It All Originated

It was said that the world had been created by God of Creation millennia ago.

It was said that the god had blessed the land to grow lives and the ocean to feed the livings.

Since the first living cells emerged in the ocean and on land, God of Creation, lack of patience, gifted these minor entities with divine energy, accelerating the evolution. They grew fast and strong, claiming domination on the planet and seizing territories for their own.

Nonetheless, god could also make mistakes.

The celestial power was too great to be controlled by primitive beings. They mindlessly leveraged their enormous magical and physical strength in unending battles, devastating the continents and splitting the water zones. Volcanoes erupted for years, emitted smoke so much that the sky was completely mantled, and hence raised the temperature to a deadly level.

The sun went missing for centuries, the air eventually dropped to tens of degrees below zero. The Ice Age came to replace the Fire Age, challenging the survivors for several hundred years.

Extreme climates turned the whole world into hell and seemed to never end. Thankfully, the divine energy hereby dispersed from omnipotent hosts and enriched the soil and the water, encouraging the new living forms.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Having learned a lesson, God of Creation took the flesh and bone of the ancient creatures and degraded them to inferior descendants such as human, orc, elf, dwarf. The leftover magical energy, therefore, was dispensed to entire species instead of independent individuals.

When the weather was stable and a better environment was available, these lineages set their first steps on the planet, established their civilization, and conquered undiscovered regions.

In order to avert the same disaster, God of Creation added a System with levels and attributes for administration. Should any suspicious incidents threaten the fundamental equilibrium of the planet, the god would interfere and restore the original balance.

It was said that God had corrected everything and made the world more beautiful.

However, it was never a doubt about what was said, let alone what was true.

Because of dissimilarity and misapprehension, conflicts surged among intelligent species and soon resulted in gruesome wars.

When the world was torn apart by the warfare between descendants of mighty ancestors, the god didn’t interfere.

When myriad kingdoms were burnt into ashes and innocent people were slain, the god’s salvation wasn’t there.

The First Great War, comprising all races and scorching in every corner of the planet, forever divided everyone and carved a massive scar in each individual’s heart.

The peace that the god had always wanted never came.
