Greetings reader. It has been several months since the existence of functional magic has become public knowledge. Yet the sorcerers have always been amongst us. As it was a major conflict that caused the magical world to bleed into our mundane lives like never before, the United Nations has responded. The Sorcerer's Mandate, which is ratified to regulate magic globally, should soon be used as a guiding line.
Whether or not this protects humanity remains to be seen. However the point of this book is not to discuss the effectiveness of the law when it comes to regulation of the supernatural. No. It is to discuss the hidden history of magic.
I, Professor Derken Smith, am apart of the history department of Kerm State University, the first University to add a program dealing with magic to its courses. By interviewing those involved with magic in modern times, as well as reviewing historical tales and documents, I hoped to get a better understanding of the power we are dealing with. I also wish to give the general populace a better grasp of what is going on. Indeed, the world has changed, but it is really returning to the past. Every where you looked on this planet, humans had an idea of magic, even if a percentage of a percentage could actually utilize it. While it eventually faded into legend, it has recently returned stronger than ever.

After a year of research, here are my findings on general spells and abilities. These spells overlap cultures and are relatively common in the rarity that is magic. This book will shock and awe the public, as well as inform policy. Now without further ado, let us get started. This is A Historical Guide To Wizard War Crimes.
