It was a cold night, the only things you could hear were the retro signs flickering and the sound of a cigarette being lit. The man that was smoking was a detective named Ryou. In the background there was a young girl being led in to a dark alleyway. Ryou exhaled the cigarette and mumbled something to him self.

Ryou mumbled. “Uhh… not again…”

Ryou droped the cigarette on the ground and started walking towards them. The man noticed the detective, threw the girl on the ground and turned a sharp right in to the alleyway. Ryou ran towards the girl and checked her pulse.

Ryou said calmly. “Can you hear me…? Are you okay?”

She did not respond. Ryou smelled her mouth and noticed she had been drugged. He picked up the girl and carryed her back to his car. As he puts the girl down she slowly wakes up and starts to panic. Ryou grabs both her arms and tries to calm her down.

Ryou said while struggling. “Calm… down… Its okey, I’m Ryou a detective.”

The girl gives out a confused look and stops struggling. She looks left and right not knowing what had happened.

Ryou asked calmly. “Can you hear me?”

She shakes her head up and down.

Ryou asked again. “Can you talk?”

She shakes her head left and right.

He gave her a confused look. The girl opened her mouth, and what Ryou saw was horrific, she had bloody teeth and a cut up tongue. Ryou made no expression and gave her a napkin.

Ryou said calmly. “Clean your mouth with this.”

The girl, still shaken up slowly grabed the napkin from Ryou’s hand. She spit the blood on the ground and wiped her mouth.

Ryou asks politely. “May I see your wallet?”

The girl give Ryou her wallet. He opens the wallet and takes her ID card.

Ryou said. “Huh… she’s still young.”

Ryou puts the ID card back in her wallet, closes her door and gets in his car. Ryou makes his way back to the police station. When they arrive, he opens the girl’s door and helped her inside the station. When he came in, he placed the girl on the chair and called for help.

Ryou said louder. “Somebody get me some paper towels and a blanket!”

Soon after Ryou called for help, his coworker showed up with the paper towels and a blanket. As he was coming closer to Ryou and the girl he stumbled and fell on the floor, dropping everything.

Ryou said. “I see you’re as clumsy as always, Jun.”

After falling, Jun immediately picked up the blanket with the towels and handed them over to Ryou.

Ryou said. “Thank you Jun, now help me carry her to my office.”

Jun said. “Okey.”

Ryou and Jun grabbed the girl and carried her to the office. While they were heading towards the office, they received stares from other employees. After they arrived at his office Ryou leaned towoards Jun.

Ryou mumbled and said with a serious tone. “Don't let anyone inside, I will be right back.”

Jun had never seen Ryou like that, he said nothing and shook his head. Ryou let go of the girl and headed straight towards the chief's office. He knocked on his door and soon after was greeted in.

The chief said. “Come in.”

After Ryou came in, the chief made a confused look and laughed.

The chief said. “Hahaha, what brings you here?”

Ryou gives out an annoyed expression.

Ryou said with an annoyed expression. “What do you think?”

He took out the girls ID card and threw it on the desk.

Ryou said. “What the fuck is this then.”

“Your men were supposed to be protecting this girl, she has a protection warrant.”

The chief said. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Ryou thought to him self. “What a lying bitch.”

Ryou looked the chief in the eyes and left without saying anything. When he came out he saw a group of people in front of his office. He started heading towards his office, pushing people out of his way.

Ryou said louder. “This is not a tourist attraction, go back to work.”

All of the gathered people headed back to their work while mumbling about the situation.

Ryou went inside the office and locked the door. The girl and Jun were having some sort of a conversation. Jun was talking to her and she was writing down the things she wanted to say.

Ryou said. “Am I interrupting something?”

Jun turns around and steps next to Ryou.

Jun mumbles. “Umm…Ryou… do you know who she is?”

Ryou said with a confused expression. “What do you mean by that?”

Jun said. “She’s the daughter of Sakaki, the second richest man in Japan.”

Ryou said. “Oh… didn’t know.”

Ryou walked closer to the girl and asked her a question.

Ryou asked. “Hey you, do you have a place to stay at?”

The girl grabbed the piece of paper and started writing on it. She turned the piece of paper to Ryou and it said.

Writing on paper: “No, I don’t.”

Ryou sighed and said. “Uhh… I guess you’re staying at my place then.”

Jun got confused and didn't even bother asking why he would do that, so he left the office.

Jun said. “Okay, I'm going home now, since it’s the end of my shift, good night.”

Soon after he left Ryou and the girl were alone in the office. Ryou took the blanket on the stool and gave it to the girl.

Ryou said. “Hey Hibiki we don’t have all day, hurry up.”

Hibiki looked at Ryou and smiled. She stood up and they both made their way to the car. They drove off. When they arrived at Ryou’s place Hibiki was sound asleep. He carried her to his appartment and placed her down on his bed. After placing her down he took some pills.

Ryou mumbles. “Why me…”

He sits on his chair and slowly falls a sleep.
