One day, something unexpected happened. While in his living room playing a video game, a supernatural presence suddenly appeared in front of a young adult. And said to him...
"What is your wish, Chuck?" it said, a bright spherical ball of light.
Chuck was startled and sidestepped from his couch, dropping his controller.
"W-whoa....!" he said, clearly surprised.
The ball of light began to follow him.
H-...hey!" shouted Chuck as he began to navigate around his house to avoid the presence.
It stopped moving.
"Stop running, I'm not going to hurt you." said the ball of light.
Chuck was in his kitchen looking for a weapon, then stopped to peek at the intruder.
"W-what is it? A-are you God?" asked Chuck, his voice shaking.
Suddenly the ball of light began to shine; rays of light beamed out of it as it's sphere shaped body expanded and then morphed into a figure.
"Here... does this form calm you down?" said the ball of light, now looking like a humanoid.
"Uh....!" said Chuck even more scared upon seeing the strange anomaly turn into a man. "What... is happening right now?" he asked, now reaching for the knife on his counter.
"Well... I'm here to grant you three wishes, then I'm gone. --and no, I'm not God, just a simple genie." it said.
"A genie?" asked Chuck.
The genie walked towards Chuck
Hey-hey-hey!" he said, pointing the knife at it.
"(sigh) Ok, I'll be sitting over there... said the genie pointing to Chuck's couch. Come over when you want to make a wish...unless you don't."
Chuck watched the strange being float over to his couch.
He slowly came out of his kitchen and walked into his living room, but maintained a distance.
"...are you really a genie?" he asked.
"I am indeed." the genie replied.
"Ok...then. I want to make a wish." said Chuck.
"Oh, great! So... what's your first wish?" it grinned.
Chuck thought for a few seconds.
"I wish I... could fly?" said Chuck.
"Ahh, a classic." said the genie. [snap!]
Chuck's body suddenly felt lighter. He looked at the genie with a perplexed look as he began to slowly rise above the floor.
"Oh...no way." said Chuck as he wiggled his feet.
"Oh, way." said the genie, grinning.
"OH, MY GOSH! WOOOOOOO!" said Chuck, as he began to fly across his living room.
"Ah, there it is!" said the genie.
Chuck continued to fly across the room, his arm and legs flailing as he tried to adjust to the weightlessness.
"I can't believe this... WAIT! You're a real genie?!" said Chuck, his eyes widening.
"Bona Fide." said the genie.
"Oh, wow... ok.... WOW...!" said Chuck, as he gleefully floated.
"oh... oh wait."
Chuck's expression was now distressed.
"This is a dream isn't it? Yep.. another lucid dream... has to be." said Chuck.
"I assure you that it isn't."
The genie pointed at Chuck and his flying powers were removed.
"w-woa..!!" [thwack]
"..."
"... I fell down... and I feel pain?"
"Yes, sir. That's becauase falling hurts." remarked the Genie.
Chuck gasped and recoiled back from where the genie was.
"Who are you?!?!" he yelled, terrified.
"Look..." the genie pointed at Chuck.

Chuck's body began to lift off the floor again.
"I'm a genie. That's all here is to it." the genie said.
"Oh.. w-wow.. wow..!!" Chuck exclaimed, regaining his excitement at his flight.
"Wow, indeed. Do you know your second wish?" asked the genie.
Chuck regained his composure.
"Ok... umm... Oh, DUH! I wish for world peace!" Chuck said excitedly.
"Oooo... can't do that buddy. It's rare to hear this wish, and I really respect that, but I can't force people to feel."
He looked confused. "W-wait, what does that mean?"
"Well, it means that wishing for world peace would involve causing people to always feel happy or calm. My wishes can't affect free will." the genie replied.
Chuck's cheerfulness dimmed. "...really?"
"'Fraid so." the genie shrugged.
Just then, he heard the faint sound of his game that he was playing minutes ago. He flew to his controller.
".... oh."
"..oh my..."
"...HOLY shiiit!!!"
Chuck's head made a swift turn to the genie.
"Genie! Is it possible to make the world like a video game?" asked Chuck.
"Is that your wish?" said the genie.
"Well, would it work? Would it affect the ...uhh.. free will of people?" asked Chuck.
"Yes, it would work and no, free will wouldn't be affected. If this is your wish, the world would suddenly change to whatever style of game your mind is thinking and whatever you would have imagined it to be." explained the genie.
"w-WAIT! You can actually do this?!" said Chuck excitedly.
"Sure. Are you ready?" asked the genie.
"N-no..! Wait!" said Chuck.
He thought for a second
"Y-you said anything that I think of, right?" he stuttered.
"Yep." the genie replied.
Chuck then began to concentrate, trying to hold in his excitement.
"You're quite estatic, huh? the genie inquired.
He turned to the genie with a serious look on his face. "Genie... you don't even know how much I've dreamt about this!"
The genie grinned.
"Would it be okay... c-could I like write this on paper first?" asked Chuck.
"It's not necessary, but sure." the genie shrugged.
In the next half hour Chuck put all of this ideas onto some paper, cluttering it with phrases and game terminology.
-all people get a fairy helper
-everyone starts the same
-some mobs have aggro
-updates are allowed
-....
-....
After writing much more, he finished and looked at the paper. It looked like a complete mess.
"Ah... ok..!" said Chuck. He handed the paper to the genie. "I wish for the world to be exactly the way I want it." he said, confidently.
The genie laughed. "You didn't need to write it down... but, I'll humor you."
{snap!] The genie poofed up glasses to read with. "Hmm...there seems to be certain things that affect free will here, but in the terms of a game-like world, it's acceptable." said the genie.
"Alright." [snap!]
Nothing happened.
"...."
Chuck's eyes were closed as he waited for something to occur.
"Oh, I should have mentioned this before, but wishes like this begin to take action after one hour." said the genie.
Chuck was intrigued. "Oh, really? Why is that?
"Well, it's a worldwide wish. At this moment, you could say that the world is being downloaded, so that the wish can function properly. There are certain mechanics behind a wish... it would take such a loooong time to explain." said the genie, leaning his head back.
"Nah, I understand... it's 11:17 pm right now... so at... 12:17 am, right?" asked Chuck, checking his wall clock.
"Yeah... maybe a minute more." replied the genie.
"Do you have your last wish in mind?" the genie asked. Chuck walked around the room. "Yeah.. but I wanna wait for a while... is that cool?" he asked. "Hey... whatever you want Master." said the genie, as he lazily gestured his arm.
Chuck laughed.
"Oh, yeah..!" Chuck said, remembering something.
"Thought of your wish?" asked the genie. "Oh...it's not that.. I just need to talk to my friends right now." he replied.
Chuck texted 3 people in a group message and sat down waiting for their replies.
You: 11:21:14 pm [Hey guys, I'm really sorry if I woke you up. I need to know, what kind of class would you be in a MMO?]
Mark: 11:22:03 pm [Dude, what the hell... I'd be the tank that kicks your ass. Goodnite! >:I]
"Hahaha... he was sleeping." Chuck laughed.
Joseph: 11:25:56 pm [I'm up. Playin GTA. I woudl be a archer. Hey, get on Live, dude!]
You: 11:26:11 pm [Ahh, not right now, bro.]
Joseph: 11:26:20 pm [K scrub. l8r.]
Mia: 11:29:01 pm [Chuck, it's too late for this. You already know that I'd heal anyway.]
You: 11:30:11 pm [Sorry, just asking. XP]
Mia: 11:30:16 pm [Why?]
Chuck smirked.
Chuck 11:31:00 [Well, this genie granted my wish which was that the world would become an MMO and I've decided to let you guys have an early start in grinding. :) [https://forum.royalroadl.com/images/smilies/smile.png]]
Mia: 11:31:11 [Die. I'm going to bed. Byeee]
Chuck smiled. The world was about to change in the next hour and besides the genie, he was the only one that knew it.
"Ahh... thank you genie!" said Chuck, smiling. "No, problem. It's my job." said the genie, winking. Hahaha... finally the world will become the way I've always dreamed it to be!" said Chuck.
"I'm kinda getting used to flying now... but how do I go faster?" said Chuck.
"Imagine going faster." the genie replied.
"Huh... that's what I've been doing... I'll figure it out, no spoilers." smirked Chuck.
"Glad to see you're enjoying it." said the genie as it watched him.
Chuck turned his body around and looked down at the genie. "Hey, why did you pick me?" he asked.
"Oh, I didn't pick. You were just the lucky winner." the genie explained.
"Oh... so I take it you've done this before?" asked Chuck.
"1,564,231 times. With you that's 1,564,232." the genie said.
"Oh, wow... that's kinda sad. Do you want me to set you free? Like Aladdin?" asked Chuck.
"NO. I'd rather stay bound to servitude. If I was set free I'd go crazy with the power that I posses." the genie said, staring blankly.
"What do you mean?" said Chuck.
"Let's just say it's happened before and I wouldn't like it to happen again." said the genie.
"Well... if that's what you want..." said Chuck.
"It is. I am more than happy satisfying others." the genie smiled.
"Good." said Chuck.
After a while 12:15 pm came. The wish was about 2 minutes away from activating.
Chuck glided around his house excitedly.
"S-so... what will happen genie?" he said anxiously.
"Hmm.. well, everything you thought of will come true. Since you mentioned, and I quote, "monsters will be different types in different regions, some aggro and some docile." you should expect to see creatures walking everywhere.
"Oh-ok...WOW. It just sounds so unrea-" "[59]! "
As Chuck was talking he noticed that the back of his hand had two numbers on it.
"What the hell!?" said Chuck, rubbing his hand.
"Don't worry. I added that to your wish. It's just a countdown. It's about to take place." said the genie.
"Oh! Awesome, awesome." said Chuck
Chuck's eyes where dead set on his hand, waiting and yearning for it to end.
[46]! [45]! [44]! [43]! [42]! [41]!
"Ahh... genie..!" said Chuck as he ran to the genie, hugging him. "Oh, you want to touch me now?" laughed the genie. "No.. like... just... thanks..!" said Chuck, feeling very excited. "Hey..." he said putting his hand on Chuck's shoulders. "I aim to please."
[28]! [26]! [25]! [24]! [23]! [22]! [21]! [20]!
"Ok... Chuck thought. I really, won't want anything else... this is enough for me. If anything I'd...")
Chuck thought of something.
"Uh..! Genie!" he said.
"Yes?" the genie replied.
"Could a wish affect YOUR free will?" he asked. The genie laughed. "It would not be possible, since I'd know the wish..." the genie replied.
"B-but... what if I won't wish for anything bad? Like... you doing evil or something?" asked Chuck.
"Well, I'd need to hear it first." said the genie, smirking.
Chuck thought about the wish he had in mind
Gah.. he'd probably say no. But, maybe, he'll say yes...!
Well, there's no harm in trying...
[15]! [14]! [13!] [12]!
"Genie!" shouted Chuck.
"Yes?" the genie replied.
"I wish...you could be my best friend FOREVER!"
The genie wore a huge grin.
"I knew you'd say that." the genie said.
Chuck took in a deep breath. "...will you?"
The genie came over to Chuck and put his arm around him.
"Call me, Izz." [snap!]
