Chapter 3: Prequel to Adventure

Chapter 3: Killing the First Boss!

As the saying goes: “Only a fool charges into battle”.

Xin heart beat fast in his chest as he crouched behind a bush looking on at the battle. He had been observing the battle for 15 minutes. As of now, neither Kaeda nor the boar held the upper hand.

A sense of boredom encroached on him as his eyes flickered to the side. His anger rose in his chest, fist tightening as his eyes spied people crouching nearby. “Tsk…how dare you snatch my prey!”

Malice ran through his mind as a mischevious grin surface on Xin’s mouth. He drew his rapier in slience before getting down on all fours. Crawling on the ground silently, he made his way to the players.

He was not planning on killing them. No, what he was planning was far worse.

The backs of the players are exposed to Xin. His shoulders tensed up unconsiously. With a twitch, the rapier severed the tendons of the players in rapid succession.

However, he encountered an unexpected resistance. One of the players was wearing an rare form of equipment that protected the Archilles heel.

Fear, before it was replace by annoyance, hit Xin. He only had a few minutes to choose. It was a choice between getting killed by players or a murderer’s mark.

He choosed the latter.

With a quick stab, the rapier when through the spinal cord of the player. A gasp of pain drew the attention of others. However, they suddenly realise then could not move.

A sense of relief soothed his tension. Smiling like a devil, Xin kicked them all out into the swarm of mobs.

And all this happened in the span of a few minutes.

Returning his eyes upon the battle between Kaeda and the boar, he witness the deciding moment of the match.

xxXxx

Kaeda was pushed to her limits.

She needed to kill the boar. It was the only way to win. Yet, despite how much she tried, the damn thing just would not die.

Determination would not be enough to sustain her soon. She was approaching her limits. A low growl sounded from her mouth. Her hand gripped her sword with fervor as she readied herself.

For her final attack.

“Even if that damn person asked me not to use it…I offer my blood and soul to grant me might! Lu, the God of Light, bless my sword! <>!”

The heaven’s rumbled in response to her cries. Thunder and lightning flashed through the sky. Kaeda sword with a holy light as tears of blood flowed. With a thunderous “Boom”, the sword pierced through the front of the boar.

Just as another figure stabbed the boar through its ass.

“What are you doing, Xin…?”

The figure of Xin standing with his sword sticking out of the boar’s ass was the last thing she saw before she collapsed on the ground.

xxXxx

Xin stood over the corpse of the boar in the midst of a dozen figures charging forward. Time seems frozen as everyone looked on at the person who stole their kill.

The feeling of exhilaration surged through Xin. He gave a loud roar as his sword was pulled out of the boar’s ass.

“It is mine!”

He laid his claim over the boar. Before anyone could so much as deny it, the entire boar dissapeared. Xin already kept the boar in his inventory.

A shiver when down Xin’s spine. It was then did he spy that everyone, even the mobs, had their eyes on him.

Taking a step back in reflex, Xin raised his rapier in front of him. “Whoops…ermm…I will be going them…”

Faced head on with the surging mass of hate, Xin retreated step by step. His rapier was waved infront of him as a deterrent, though that did not stop the crowd from advancing.

Xin was truly afraid now. He imagined how he would look like while glancing at the spot where he threw the players to previously. Bits and pieces of flesh are scattered all around. Grasping his rapier, he knew his fate would be a thousand times worst.

That was until he stepped onto something springy. Stepping once more, then twice, confusion spread through his mind. Turning his head for a glance, he saw he was stepping on Kaeda’s chest as she lied on the grass.

“Ermm…”

Looks of hatred turned into murderous intent in everyone’s eyes. Surging forward like a massive wave, they swarmed towards Xin.

“Die, bastard!”

A jolt of adrenaline shot through Xin. He grapped Kaeda on the ground, turned, and ran as fast as he could. His only salvation lies with Gabriel.

xxXxx

Xin was doing a push-up position while Gabriel sat on him. Beneath him lied a bed of nails. Anxiety and despair hammered on his chest in equal amounts as his arms shook. Opening his mouth, he asked through his teeth: “Is Kaeda alright?”

“No.” Gabriel flipped through his military reports while downing a mug of beer.

“………Can you find a chair now?”

“No. Who was it that came barging in with my daughter unconsious and the entire town after you?”

Xin grimaced. When he arrived hours prior, the entire town was after him chanting: “Rapist, Adulter, Robber, Murderer!”

Gabriel had to personally go out and shout for them to, quote on quote, “Fuck off and go home, you piece of shits.”

It was only after that did they when home. Aside from that, Gabriel also had to help kill off all the remaning mobs from the <>.

If not for him, Xin would have been lynched by the crowd.

As such, even if he was dehumanized to a cushion, he had nothing to say.

“We are in a bit of trouble right now.” Gabriel tossed his military report on the table. Standing up, he looked on at Xin in the eye. “To treat Kaeda, we need a magical crystal strong enough to prevent her body from breaking down. However, the only person that has it is Mary Viendela.”

Xin’s heart nearly stopped at the mention of the name. His mind flashed to a list passed to him by a certain someone. Getting up over the bed of nails, he collapsed on the ground before complaining.

“Isn’t that one of Darius’s acquaintance?” Xin face frowned in frustration. There isn’t a single one of Darius’s plans that had gone well for him.

“Yes. Is there a problem?”

“………………Nonono, when has there ever being a problem with Darius’s friends.” The sacarsm was evident in Xin’s tone.

“Sigh…don’t worry about it too much. Mary isn’t as bad as I am. In fact, she is the kindest out of us four.” Darius looked outside of the window, at the castle in the distance, reminiscing times long past.

Us four? Hmm…

Xin joted down the information in his mind.

“So, do you agree to go?”

“Do I have a choice? If I say no, you probably would kick me out and let the town have their way with me.”

Resigning to fate, Xin caught the emblem that Gabriel threw over. Turning around, Xin left the room, all the while grumbling.

“Use the emblem if anyone stops you!” Gabriel called from behind.

“Yes…”

xxXxx

Hiding in an alleyway, Xin took a deep breath.

Footsteps echoed through the streets. Groups of players are marauding around, looking for one individual.

Xin glance at the emblem in his hand before spitting on it. “Useless thing!” he cried out in frustration. The emblem did nothing to help him against the crowd.

The moment someone saw him coming out of the barracks, he was marked and chased down. From street to street, alleyway to alleyway, he was pursued after.

Even when he waved his emblem desperately, the players did not stop.

Right now, Xin was waiting for a chance to escape.

His eyes flicked to the castle looming overhead. It was merely a street ahead. Unsheathing his rapier, he whispered: “<>”.

There is only one way. Desperation forced him to this choice. He would fight his way to the castle gates, even if he was going to be killed.

His feet kicked off against the ground. His breathing hasten as he ran, faster and faster. Soon, the mob spotted him and gave chase. This tirade continued until Xin was stopped by another mob that circled infront of him.

“Die.”

Xin felt indignant. He did nothing wrong. Yet, he was chased by everyone. If they want death, so be it. Bending down to avoid the first slash of a shortsword, he lopped the hand off the beginner. Next, <> activated its effects, as he avoid the rest of the attacks. Slashing and twirling without stop, he carved a bloody road to the castle.

“If you all wish for death so much, DIE!”

Xin swept his sword in a arc as sweat dripped down onto the bloodstained ground. Panting slightly, he glanced around him. Corpse of players are beginning to dissipate. He seemed to be winning. However, a peek at his health bar told a different story.

“Damn…”

Xin clenched his teeth in frustration. He was so close yet so far. Looking on at the gate just beyond him, he could not help but curse.

Levelling his rapier towards the players in his way, he mustered out all the strength his had and uttered one word.

“Scram.”

A small flicker of hope sustained him. He wished that the sign of all the corpse would dissuade them from further resistance. However, things did not go as planned. Xin swung the rapier to his side after seeing that none of them a bulging. With a war cry, Xin decided to rush them.

The players did not falter. They stood waiting for something. A fireball crashed from the sky infront of Xin. He was blew off his feet from the resultant explosion.

“<>!”

The players were aiming for this. Their job was not to kill, but stall Xin. His death will come at the hands of spells, not swords.

Like a scene from the Apocalypse, fire burned around Xin. Crawling back up to his feet, he lurched to the side as another fireball blasted towards him.

Magic poured down around him. Fire, Ice, Lightning smashed the front of the palace into shreds. A torrent of spells poured towards his location, blinding in its intensity.

His heart pounded in his chest everytime a spell missed him. However, there are still plenty more. Cursing under his breath, he raised his rapier to block the remaining magic attacks.

“Damn!!!!”

Accepting the fact that he is going to die, Xin closed his eyes as he held the sword in a defensive position. He waited, with baited breath, for the searing pain and the darkness that follows.

“Am I dead?”

None of that happened. He was bewildered at his survival. Opening his eyes slightly, he saw the back of a lady infront of him. She was holding a specter of sliver, hand outstretched towards the torrent of spells.

“<>”

Her bubblegum pink hair fluttered around her as the spells vanished without a trace. As she glared at the players, she spoke with a voice full of scorn. “Be gone fools, before I kill all of you. How dare you make a mess infront of the castle!”

Mana flowed around her as each word was spoken. The specter purred with delight, as if it was alive. It started emitting bloodlust, dyeing the surroundings in red.

The players looked on with fear, with the closest already trembling. Some turn and ran when the bloodlust reached them. Others logged out immediately. Soon, what was once a mob vanished without a trace.

“Sigh…geez, I did not want to do this? Hmm…you, why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be running off with them?”

Xin supressed the strong urge to roll his eyeballs. Relaxing his grip on the rapier, he repiled curtly “I was getting killed by them.”

“Killed? I wonder what you did?” The lady seemed geniuely interested. Leaning forwards towards Xin, she arched her eyebrows.

Xin leaned back in response to her pose. “What? I did nothing. Those cowards are just jealous I killed the <>.”

Xin had a bad feeling in his heart. A primodial part of his brain was screaming: “Danger! Danger!” He took a step back. Then another.

The look on the lady faced changed as she placed her hands on her hips. Pouting at Xin, she asked: “What? Am I that scary?” Moving forward for every step Xin took, she preassured Xin to a dead end.

Xin gulped as his back faced up against the castle gates. Raising boths his arms out in defense, he tried to keep a distance between him and the lady.

Only to have himself collapsing into the arms of another lady coming out of the castle. This was due to the gates opened behind him, causing him to trip backwards. He happen to land exactly on two soft cushions to support him.

“Who is this gentleman, my lady Mary?”

The lady, with a hair of gold, asked the other lady named Mary. Mary swayed her head side to side as she repiled: “No idea. I think he is the person who cause this mess outside the castle.”

“Really…” The other lady shook her head. “What should I do?” She looked at Xin, then at the destoryed street. Giving a melodramatic sigh, she raised both of her arms out in a hopeless expression.

“We should just throw him in jail Luise. We cannot forgive such criminals.” Crossing her arms and tapping her feet, she squished her face in a look of concentration. “Hmm…no…why don’t we use him for <>?”

“<>? You want him to die?”

“No, but he should pay for his mess right?” Mary clapped her hands as she stared up at Xin. “You are coming with us!”

Xin showed not outward signs of agreement. Instead, he reached under his pocket and scrubbed the emblem with spit on it along the fabric. “Hurry…”

Xin had figured out Mary’s identity from the conversation. Conflicted emotions of happiness and despair battled out in him. Clutching what may be his only hope tighter, he swung the emblem out for all to see. “This emblem was…”

The words lay stuck in his throat. He could not move an inch. Mary moved her hands over Xin’s eyes, closing them. “Sleep tight, cause you will never wake again.”

“Bring him in. Finally, perhaps we could complete the <> experiment.” Mary smiled darkly as Luise dragged Xin through the gates.

Gabriel looked on at Kaeda laying unconsious on the bed. Caressing her hair gentlely, he remember the day when he approached Mary Viendela for help.

Carrying the baby Kaeda in his embrace, he rushed through the pouring rain to reach Mary’s laboratory. Mary smiled as she saw Gabriel sihoulette; she knew too well what he wanted.

Like the devil himself, Mary talked Gabriel into accepting the procedure. The transplantation of an <> into Kaeda. She reasoned with Gabriel that the only way to save her life from the disease is to use the power of an <>. Pushing Gabriel to the brink, she made him signed the indenmity document.

Then, she began. In total secrecy, outside the laboratory, she made Gabriel wait was she completed the procedure.

Minutes turned in hours as Gabriel got more and more anxious. He trusted Mary. However, he was unable to shake the feeling of unease. Grabbing his sword, he muttered prayers to all gods.

Suprisingly, Lu repiled. “Sure, I will grant your wish.” With that, a ray of light descended from the heavens and hit the laboratory. Lu was never heard from again.

After that, Mary came out of the laboratory with Kaeda. Gabriel immediately rushed forth, only to be stopped by Mary.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

Mary placed her finger on her lips as she took a pencil from her pocket. Kaeda took the pencil and, without force, squashed the pencil half.

“The procedure was successful. However, she is now a human with the soul of an <>. Her body cannot handle her power. The problem would go away as her body consiously limits the power but she is most vunerable now. If she ever was to use her power, remember to come find me. If not, she will break apart.” Mary explained to Gabriel. Gabriel, however, did not care about such things. He took over Kaeda from Mary’s hands and cuddle her, even as his bones are fracturing from her grip.

As they turned and leave, Gabriel thought he heard Mary mutter the word: “Failure”.

Coming back to the present, he looked at the unconsious Kaeda. This was the first time Kaeda has tried to use her power since she gotten it. If this was the consquence, he rather Kaeda don’t use it at all.

“Kaeda, was it the right choice to make a deal with the devil?”

xxXxx

Chains of steel bound Xin’s arms and legs. He was entrapped on table, a burning sensation in his chest. He was naked accept for a loincloth, his skin chaffed by the piercing cold.

“You are awake?” Mary looked on at his prone body, a emblem in her hands. She touch his chest with her fingertips, carressing the something.

Xin lifted his head off the table, looking at what she was touching. A pearl, glowing with luminance, was embedded in his chest. A series of tatooes stretched from the pearl to his right arm, entwining the flesh within.

“Perfect. Absolutely no flaws at all.” Lucieus chipped in from the side. She was glancing at his right arm lovingly. Unable to resist temptation, she reach forth and touched the arm.

A blinding pain shot from his arm. Grabbing her hand, a sickening sound was heard. A sound of pure fury echoed thoughout the room.

“Arghh!!!”

“Let go of her.” With a dismissive wave of her hand, Xin lost all feelings in his right arm. His arm slacken by his side as Lucieus chanted a healing spell.

A green glow surrounded her arm. Flesh mended at an incredible rate as her hand revert back to its original form.

“Looks like it is still getting use to the hand. Now,” her eyes turned to Xin, “are you interested in what we done to you?”

Xin did not respond. He was staring at a window that popped up infront of him. His eyes scrolled through the text it displayed.

“Trring!

Gained <>

<>

The essence of angel Raphael that fallen into Versailles was recovered by an crazy scientist. Using the body parts of the angel as medium, the arms of the angel are now implanted in you.

Gain +300 divinity, +50 strength, +50 agility, +50 intelligence, +50 endurance, +3000 HP/MP

Gain skill <>>.

Gain +300 familarity with all angels, now infamous amongst enemies of Michael. “

“We have implanted the arm of an angel we have accquired into you.” Running her fingers along the tatoos, she continued. “You are the first sample to accept the arm without any side effects. Unlike the other sample, which guessing from this emblem, is what you are here for.”

The implications of what she said was not missed on Xin. Like a puzzle, he pieced together the entire story. He muttered “No way…” under his breath.

Is that why Kaeda has such brute strength? Is that how she defeated the boar?

“However, it is not the end yet. She has the <> while you have the <>. We still have the rest of the body parts left. That is where the pearl comes in.” Her fingers reached the pearl embedded on his chest. A wave of pleasure ran through his body. A barely supressed moan escaped from his lips. “This pearl is now link to your lifeforce. The pearl cracks, you die. The good thing is that you are damn hard to kill when hit anywhere else. The bad thing is that there is now a huge critical spot on your chest.”

Lifting her fingers from Xin’s chest, pointed towards the the crown of Xin’s head.

“I have sealed all parts of the angel, except for the <> into the pearl. As your lifeforce grows, the pearl will fuse with your body, until you become a angel with the mind of human. At that time, the <> experiment would be complete.”

Xin did not know what to feel. Should it be gratitude for giving him the power, or anger, for messing with him without his knowledge. One questioned burned at him, as he opened his mouth to ask: “Why? Why me?”

“Simple. You just happen to be passing by. The parts of an angel cannot be sustain indefintely. The reason I implanted the <> into the first sample is to reduce the decay of the parts of the angel. The angel requires huge amounts of lifeforce to sustain, which we just cannot provide. If you have not come around, we may have to get rid of the sample, a pity, isn’t it.”

“Now, you should really be hurrying back to the girl. Judging by the time, you do not really have much time left.” Mary said as she unshackled Xin from the table. Tossing a crystal over, she gestured towards the door.

“<> obtained!”

Barely caging his fury, Xin stomped out of the room. “I will be coming back.”

“Any time you wish.”

Xin cursed them the entire time he made his way out of the castle. He still did not know what happen and why. Being treated like a fool irked him. Punching with his right hand onto a castle wall in frustration, it was a suprise that the entire wall caved in.

“…”

He could not deny that the powers are cool, though.

xxXxx

Blood trickled out of Kaeda mouth. Her skin was pale as death, hands cold to touch. Gabriel stood by her side, smothering her in his embrace, as tears dripped down upon her.

He regretted it now. He regretted giving his daughter to Mary. Had he known the consquences, he would never have agreed. Kaeda was the only person he had left in this world.

The only person after Lily and Bran left him.

His hand moved to his sword unconsiously. Gripping its handle, he felt the urge to go and kill the person responsible right now. If not for his love of Kaeda, Mary would be dead.

“Why isn’t Xin here yet…” He squeezed the words out of his clenched teeth. He looked at the door once more. There is no one there.

A loud explosion happened along the hallway. As he watched on with fascination, Xin barged his way in, with five of his best men grabbing on to him. The rest of the hallway was in pieces, burning with a whitish flame.

“Gabriel, the crystal!” Xin threw the crystal over. The crystal flew in an arc, before it landed exactly on Kaeda forehead.

Another explosion, trumping the one before, happened. The entire room was bathed in a blue tint as the crystal absord the mana from Kaeda. Plunging itself into Kaeda forehead, the crystal embedded itself there.

“What happened?” Kaeda opened her droopy eyelid. Staring onto the conflicted expressions of Gabriel and Xin, she voiced her confusion.

“Ermm…is this suppose to happen?” Xin gestured at her forehead as he looked on at Gabriel.

Gabriel shrugged his shoulder as he looked back at Kaeda. Right now, two symmetrical line of tatoo stretched from one end of her forehead to another, with the crystal as the epicenter.

As they watched, the tatoo retreated back into the crystal before it lost its brightness. The crystal now sat in the middle of her forehead like a decoration, expect that it is permenent.

Crawling out from her bed, Kaeda stood on her trembling feet as she turned to face the mirror behind. Upon seeing the crystal, she shattered the mirror into a thousand pieces.

“WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?!” She exclaimed with confusion and anger, looking at the two of them staring at her. The guards who are clinging on to Xin wisely retreated from the room. Left to face her wrath alone, the two man looked at each other. An imperceptible nod was exchange.

As if in cahoots, the both of them got down in sieza position and bowed down. “We are sorry! We did this to save you!”

Another explosion happened that day and it ended with both of them flying out of the barracks.

xxXxx

“Are we ready to go?” Mary asked her companion Lucieus as she slung her luggage over her back. Her companion gave her a nod and the both of them began chanting a spell in unison.

“<>!”

The both of them dissapeared into thin air. The only thing left behind was a letter.

“To: Xin”.

That day, when Xin and Gabriel barged into the palace all guns blazing, they only found was that letter. From the Baron himself, they heard that Mary had quit together with Lucieus. Their wheabouts are now unknown.

Gabriel swung his sword down with such ferocity that a 1 meter wide gap appeared in the castle. “Damn that woman! I always knew she was shady!”

“Yeah right! I still haven’t ask her what she had done to me!” Xin repiled with equal fervor. The both of them then glance towards the letter.

“Zwump!”

The letter was opened in godspeed. Within, there was only a few words.

“Holy City of Lu, Luthinia.”

xxXxx

An archer stood upon the castle walls. Shooting arrow after arrow into the distance, she did not seem to mind the looks the guards are sending her.

Wearing what was the bare minimum of clothing, she presented an alluring figure to the guards on the walls. It was not everyday they get to see an beautiful lady on the walls.

She suddenly stopped shooting, causing all the guards to turn back their gaze. A bloodcurling cry was heard in the distance, piercing the soul of everyone present.

A thin smile appeared on the archer’s face. Only she knew what happened. Tonight, the forest would have lost another <>.

Before any of the guards could respond, the archer vanished, leaving the guards to their loathsome duty.

The night once again fell back into depressing slience.

xxXxx

“Why are you following me?”

“Unless you want to be killed when by her, you need me to follow you.”

Xin was running down a the street at top speed, followed by Gabriel. Gabriel decided to stick on to Xin after Xin decided to complete Darius’s request and find Rachel Darksin.

Xin tried to shake him off, but Gabriel always manage to catch up. After running up and down five streets, he gave up trying. Now, he is heading towards the outskirts of the town where Rachel is rumoured to be at.

Coming to a stop outside a shady tavern, Xin kicked the tavern door open. Strolling in as if he belong there, he scanned the tavern. There was no one there, aside from a very drunk lady in one corner.

She was dressed in scanty clothing, with a dark hair tied up in a bundle. A bow engraved with carvings was placed carelessly by the side.

“Is that her?” Xin looked towards Gabriel.

“Yes.” Gabriel gave a nod.

Xin walked towards Rachel. Coming to her side, he said: “I am sent her by Darius…”

An arrow whisked part him. Rachel had her bow drawn and aim towards his heart. “Who?”

“Darius.” Another arrow shot pass Xin.

Rachel’s hands were trembling slightly. Looking at Xin, she asked: “What does that bastard want with me?”

“He is Darius’s diciple.” Gabriel interjected at this moment. He sensed that Rachel was getting emotional.

Rachel noticed Gabriel’s presence by the side of Xin. Turning her bow towards him, she asked: “Gabriel, why the fuck are you here?”.

“I am here to make sure you don’t murder him.” Gabriel unsheath his sword. Pointing the sword at Rachel, he continued: “At least listen to him first.”

“I am here because Daris wants me to meet you. Did he do anything wrong?” Xin’s expression soften. From the response, he knew that Darius did something wrong.

“Him? That piece of shit? You are his disciple right? Did he tell you anything about me? Never mind, if you are his disciple, then…” Rachel mood sudden turned for the better, as if someone has send her a early chirstmas present. Beckoning Xin over, she said: “Follow me.”

Downing the last of the beer remaining, she grapped her bow and left the tavern. Xin followed closely behind.

She walked the rest of the distance in slience, only stopping when she is infront of an archery range. She entered the range and stopped infront of an target.

“You know, Darius once promised me one thing. He said: ‘Rachel, if I ever break a promise to you, I would allow you to shot me once.’ Considering how he broke every promise we ever made, he owes me alot of shots. Paying for his masters debts are a disciple’s responsibility isn’t it?” The shadow of a devil appeared behind Rachel. “Stand infront of the target. Now.”

Xin arched his eyebrows at Rachel. Really? Shrugging his shoulders, he moved infront of the target. Staring at Rachel, whose arrowhead is already aim at him, he said: “Mercy?”

“Die.” An arrow shot forth and embedded itself on Xin’s arm.

“You have taken 40 damage!”

“That is for abandoning me in the middle of an dungeon!” Another arrow shot Xin on the other arm.

“That is for daring to leave me alone to deal with the <> in the <>!” The third arrow shot Xin on the leg.

“That is for being a complete jerk to everyone!” A fourth arrow pinned Xin’s other leg.

“Now, this arrow is for cheating my feelings!!!” The final arrow shot him on the heart.

“Compound damage: -230 HP!”

Xin spit out a goblet of blood. Grasping the arrow embedded on his heart, he muttered: “Is this enough?”

“No.” Another arrow shot over without mercy.

xxXxx

At the end, Xin looked like a pincusion. Barely surviving with 100 HP, he thanked the gods for the <> being implanted.

He even generated a new skill called “<>”.

Rachel stared at Xin in wonder. She looked around for more arrows but there isn’t a single arrow left in her quiver. She said to Xin “Are you made of steel or something?”

“Never mind that. Are you done?” Xin burned all the arrows into ashes using the <>. Cleaning himself of all the ash, he looked at Rachel and continued, “If you are, I need to go find Darius and beat his ass up. Damn him for this mess.”

Xin did not notice Rachel staring at him when his flames turned all the arrows into ashes. The arrows are made of Elven wood, a upper-grade material with decent fire resistance. For the flames to turn them into ashes…she did not even want to know what it can do to human flesh.

“I will follow you.” Rachel said. As if Xin’s answer was a forgone conclusion, she turned and make way to the Beginner Training Hall.

Xin, in exsperation, rolled his eyes before following her. Gabriel, too, tagged along.

In this manner, the three of them when to the beginner training hall.
