The second day came around and the humans haven't arrived yet, I got bored and decided to watch the kobolds spar for hours on end. I guess if you have near infinite stamina and no need to eat, the only thing you could do to past time is to fight and practice.
Watching the tiny dragon men slowly improve their fighting styles was interesting, it filled me with a sense of pride to see them grow so quickly. After watching them fight for around 6 hours I asked them to fight without weaponry, it is a great possibility that while in combat with humans they could be disarmed, so learning how to fight without a weapon is essential for them.
Also since they have the strength of a full grown man and the teeth and claws of a true predator, they could be very dangerous without weapons. I noticed they prefer two styles of fighting, hand to hand combat and beast style combat.
With hand to hand combat, it is very similar to the standard human version with the addition of clawing and biting at weak points on their opponents and the beast style of combat is fighting like a wild animal, they charge and leap at their targets vital points, often time you will see they darting around on all four or using their natural lizard ability to climb on surfaces to their advantage to leap onto victims heads.
I enjoy them using the beast style of combat because it's what they usually default to and because its funny to see a rabid kobold trying to bite the ankles of another, there is something just hilarious about the feral smile that spreads across their faces.
I had decided to create a side room next to the core room with some wooden training dummies and wooden targets, before the kobolds would have to practice aiming for vital points while not trying to kill their fellow lizards, but now they can practice better with the training room.
I also made wooden double doors for the entrance room of the dungeon as well as for the halls in between rooms, if the humans could see the other kobolds before even reaching them and the weapons they carried they could plan ahead.
And to spice up the training sessions, I added four new weapons, the mana chains, the mace, the war hammer and the axe... ok I took a peak at Norse mythology and loved their choice in weaponry, my kobolds agree with that statement.
They took to using them like fish to water especially the with the hammers, I've had to replace the training dummies 20 times already because they kept crushing and hacking them to bits, the tactic they developed was to bash in the opponents knee caps until they topple over and then deal the kill blow to the head.
The axe wielders loved hurling the axes into the dummies skulls and necks, I also realized that the beast type combat users enjoyed the Norse weaponry more... aside from the chains.
Speaking of which, the chains were the only magic item I've designed so far and let me tell you that the few kobolds who utilize them are my favorites, the chains are 2 meters long and have iron balls on each end. The magic part of the chains is that they can extend up to 10 meters long and with enough focus they can manipulate the chains like an extension of their bodies.
I often see these ones use three particular moves, the first is to wrap the chains around the legs of the target and pull their legs out from under them which creates an opening for their allies, the second is to attempt to tie up the torso while restraining the arms to prevent the usage of weapons and the third is my favorite which is to tied up the opponents head or neck and violently pull causing them to be dazed or is some cases break bones.
Or they can sneak up behind an opponent and attempt to use the chains to strangle them, it's brutal yet effective and is the way the use the chains has an element of grace to it.
The rest of day 2 was spent watching the kobolds fight and recommending new ways to use their weapons and tactical formation they could use... The other thing that happened at the end was me getting the feeling that I was forgetting to do something.
Day 3:
When the sun rose on the third day I finally remembered what I forgot to do, what I forgot was to assign one of my kobolds as the mini boss for the floor. Every five floors I can have a boss monster which is significantly stronger than anything you had faced up until that point.
A mini boss is just the evolved or stronger various of the common enemy, I selected the tenth room for the mini boss to be chosen, every time a new group of players enters the dungeon one of the kobolds in the room will be given the mini boss title.
Now I have to design a mini boss form for the kobold species, since the mini boss title removes some restrictions on the small monster template I bumped them up to 1.5 meters tall and an equally long tail, sharper claws and a slightly more draconic face with black horns, the horn design is random so the can be curved, forward or backwards facing.
The mini boss is three times stronger than the average kobold so it is physically three times stronger than an adult man despite still being shorter than the average person. The final thing that makes it better that than the normal kobold is the breath attack... no it doesn't breath fire yet, I wanted to give it the ability to shoot a mana bolt from their mouth but the spell is to strong for a floor 1 monster so I had to give it a low level spell.
The spell chosen was pulse breath or force breath, release a blast of mana that has enough force to send a grown man flying if it connects, it has a 5 minute cool down timer and leaves the mini boss low on stamina after use, during that rest period the other nine kobolds have to guard it.
Now that the mini boss problem was done I watched the title of mini boss be tossed around the tenth room like a ball in a game of catch, the beast style users became more wild and animalistic when it came to fighting and the enhanced strength makes them more dangerous as they can hurl their hammers, axes and maces with enough force to instantly kill someone, giving them horns made them develop the tactic of charging like a raging bull and goring the target.

The hand to hand combat users could now deal deadly precise blows to vital points more easily with little effort, they can break you down fast if your not cautious. The thought of a grown man being dismantled by something that's almost as tall as them is funny.
The chain users could now ragdoll light opponent or drag around decently heavy ones, the mana chains seemed to be a little stronger when in the hands of a mini boss... something to look back on later.
The rest of day 3 was spent watching the kobolds test out mini boss mode and further refine their combat knowledge.
Day 4:
The day I've been waiting for, I spotted 10 humans approaching the stairway to my dungeon and informed the kobolds to be ready. The group of humans didn't look so strong and seemed to be confused as to why there is a stairway in the middle of nowhere until they had a sudden look of realization on their faces.
If the knowledge I was born with was true, I am one of the first dungeons to spawn on earth and thus they didn't know what they were getting themselves into... it don't think monsters are even a thing hear yet.
The system blessed earth with magic a few months ago, they have magic and swords despite this being the modern day. They system works with fantasy and RPG like concepts so modern day technology doesn't work with mana and the system all to well at the moment.
If I'm correct the system would have broadcasted a message to the surrounding cities and towns of the arrival of a dungeon and that the places was filled with monsters, traps and treasures.
Any human who has played any RPG will know what to expect, I can wait to see what happens next.

Players POV
We had just arrived in the area mentioned my the system and came across the entrance to the dungeon, It was dark so we had to use our flashlights to guide the way.
We were cautious for the most part as the screens did mention there being traps and monsters in here.
"I've been itching to see an actual fantasy creature since magic came to this world" said a blond haired girl holding a wooden staff with a gem on the end.
"Yea, I wanna see what kind of beast well face off against" said a black haired bow with a long sword.
"Hold your horses there, we still don't know whether we can even fight what's down here" said a bow wielding boy with black hair and pale skin.
"Way to kill the mood max" said a girl with brass knuckles on.
"I'm just reminding you guys that we can die and I doubt that any of us can afford a resurrection stone from the system shop" said max with a worried tone.
The rest of the group just laughed an told him to relax, the group consisted of a healer, 2 mages, 3 swordsmen, 2 archers, a tank and a knight.
They descended the staircase with no issue and readied themselves before pulling the double doors open, they entered the decerped looking room and looked around at the dungeon.
"Wow this really is like one of those RPG's" said an archer.
Before the teens could look around the door on the other side of the room swung open and 10 kobolds lined up with various weapons ready to start caving skulls in or dismembering body parts.
The teens could feel the bloodlust coming from the tiny reptilians, "Are...are those kobolds" said the lead knight.
"Looks like it" said the healer girl.
They all readied their weapons and spells before charging into battle, the knight charged at one of the hammer wielding lizards and was met by a large blow to the shield staggering him slight, the lizard slammed the hammer knocking the shield from his grasp.
But before the tiny dragon could cave in his opponents knee caps and arrow pierced its wrist forcing them to drop the hammer and its blood to splatter on the knight who used the moments to kick the kobold back.
It tumbled and rolled before getting up and leaping at the knights face with the intent to maul him, the knight dodged and side stepped again as the claws of the kobold nearly cut his stomach open.
"the little things and fast and vicious" he said as he dodged it against before bringing his sword down on the short dragon man.
The kobold dropped to the ground dead before dissolving into particles of light and leaving behind a few scales, fangs and claws.
The knight grabbed his shield before sprinting over to one of the archers who was being cornered by a spear wielding kobold, he managed to cut the little thing down after it stabbed the archer twice.
The stab wounds weren't to deep but it looked like it hurt, the knight turned around to see that four of the eight remaining kobolds were taken down.
Out of the corner of his eyes he saw one of the swordsmen holding off another hammer wielding kobold before another this time wielding a chain snuck up behind the swordsman watched as the chains extented as it aimed for his legs.
"Carl behind you" shouted the knight but it was too late.
Before the swordsman could turn, the chained wrapped around his legs and with a strong tug he fell to the ground, but before he could even consider trying to get up he saw the iron hammer of the kobold coming down on him.
At that moment the party when silent while holding off the other kobolds, the scene that they witnessed could only be described as what happened when a watermelon meets a sledge hammer.
The blood of their friend splattered onto most of them due to the small size of the room. One of the archers, Luke the best friend of the now deceased Carl turned his attention towards the two kobolds taking his eye of the axe wielding one he had at arrow point.
That was his last mistake, he manage to fire two around killing the hammer wielder and injuring the chain users, but they all forgot one thing... axes can be used as ranged weapons.
He felt a stinging sensation run through the side of his head before everything went dark.
The rest of the party watched axe the axe made contact with the side of Luke's head and him collapsing to the ground and going limp, the knight closed the distance and cut down the now disarmed axe wielding as the max killed the chain wielder with an arrow to the head.
The last one was a dagger user and stood no chance when the mages had blasted the thing to bits with fire balls.
The room was silent as the remaining party took in the situation and reality finally dawned on them that this ain't no game and they can't just respawn infinitely.
They looked at the two corpses of their friends as a glowing clock and number three appeared above them, the three's ticked down and became two's.
At first people wondered why the system offered those under level 10 three lives, but now they know. The reason they have three chances before level 10 is because it's so easy to die inside dungeon.
They were informed the those who reached level 10 are recommended to run this dungeon, most of them are levels 7 through 9.
With traumatized looks on their faces they dragged the 2 corpses out of the dungeon.
----------------------------------------
I looked at the respawn timers on my monsters and back at the two human corpses... huh... who knew they could respawn?
Maybe it's a safety precaution or something like that for new or low level players?... who cares.
I shut the door behind them and turned my attention toward my core room and started digging down, those 2 kills got me to level 2 and now I can make floors 2 and 3.
This is gonna be exciting, I can't wait to see the next group will do.
