A Nightmare of Freedom

Dear Royal Road staff; This is just a draft. I'll finish the rest of the prologue once it's been approved, because I can't find out a way to save it, and it's terribly late for me.

Tsukune Aono awoke from his sleep, hyperventilating. He quickly sat up in his bed and looked around for that boy. After nearly thirty seconds of carefully watching, he sighed in relief and wiped the glistening sweat off his forehead.

"Ah... It was just a drea-" he paused, before correcting himself. "It was just a nightmare." He felt it was important to make that distinction. There was a big difference between a dream, and a nightmare, after all.

Tsukune laid back down, enjoying the feeling of his soft, cushiony pillows. He inhaled the scent; strawberry and roses.

It reminded him off Moka Akashiya. The pink haired one, not the silver haired one. He felt it was also to make that distinction. Inner Moka and Outer Moka were practically different people, their differences night and day.

Of course, the cheap fragrance he used couldn't compare to Moka's delightful nature scent. But still...

Tsukune inhaled some more, feeling heat accumulating in his cheeks, turning them a rosy pink. "Oh, Moka..." He buried himself in the pillow, the image of the kind, beautiful pink haired girl appearing in his mind.

Then, that boy flashed in his mind. With curling dark hair the color of polished obsidian, and bright green emerald eyes flecked with gold, the boy was smiling a perfectly sadistic smile.

He didn't know what it was about that boy, but the mere thought of him sent shivers down his spine. It was like an instinct, a primal fear.
