Chapter 4: The oncomming battle

"I will do it, but I will need your help." They nodded and explained how the seal worked.

The seal focused on sealing Tiamat away in a domain. Seb and Aether had spent years creating the domain and the seal. They believed that if Tiamat could be kept away from her source of power she would not be a threat.

Learning to use the seal was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. I had to practice on small objects. I took me 10 tries before the rock I was using disappeared. I was so happy at my progress but one hour later the rock reappeared.

"It is alright, young one. When you fight Tiamat you will have more of our power. It will be easier." Seb comforted me.

In order to cast a seal the dragons where lending me some of their powers. Slowly but surely I was making progress and I was able to seal away bigger objects that did not reappear. I trained against the dragons and learned to use their powers.

One month later I was ready to take on Tiamat.

Aether allowed me to ride on his back as we headed to the ocean, the sunset drenched in red. We flew for a few hours and reached a secluded island in the ocean. We landed on the soft sand, that looked silver in the moonlight. I walked to the edge of the island and saw a whirlpool creating a stream of white bubbles.

“Welcome to the domain of Tiamat, we can’t go with you for she has placed a spell that locks us out of her domain. From here on out the rest is up to you. We will be waiting here for you.”

I took a deep breath and stepped into the whirlpool.

I was immediately sucked down into the biting cold water and lost all sense of direction. I could not even find where UP was. The next thing I noticed was that the water was heavy, and that feeling got worse the further down into the whirlpool I got. It was a crushing pressure, I felt as if my bones were going to implode, before I was suddenly spat out of the water and onto dry sand.

I coughed up water and tried to catch my breath. I looked up and noticed that I was in a huge air pocket. The walls of Tiamat’s domain were the ocean. The water was clear, and I could see fish and other sea creatures swimming around. The domain was lit by bio-luminescent coral and sea-grass. I looked up and saw a dome was created and it reflected all the bright colors of the ocean. I walked around and saw something buried in the sand. I started to dig it up before I felt a large presence looming above me. I looked around in horror to find Tiamat right behind me.
