Chapter 1:Strange Normal Day

As I continue to check my body ny memories of last night's dream begins to blur. I try to remember what happened last night but I can't.

"Fuck my head.", I say as I begin to poke around my mouth. After making sure everthing is real for a few minutes I decide to hop back into the shower, stopping as the clear knob for hot turns. "Hey, Liam! Food's ready!", Says my dad as he knocks on the bathroom door.

"You go ahead! I'll just walk today!", I scream. With an audible sigh, he steps away, asking me if I'm sure several times. I'd like to figure this out on my own so I don't worry him so I tell him I'm sure. In the end he steps away, the sound of plastic clattering shortly after. It seems that he decided to pack it as lunch.

"Allright, I'll go ahead and leave now. Today its homade sausage kolaches with a side of sunny side up eggs.", He screams from the kitchen. I thank him, trying my best not to drool. While waiting for him I put on the clothes I brought with me.

"Maybe I should dry myself? Nah, this feels better.", I say as I lightly tug at the red t-shirt and loose jeans I put on. I check my phone real quickly, making sure I can make it on time for school or if I should just skip today. "Damn it. Eight o clock.", I say with a slight sigh. If I walk I'm going to be late so I decide to just accept it and spend my day at home. Dad's definetely ganna be pissed but I don't really care about that right now.

I have a pretty good record for attendance and grades and I'd like to keep it that way. I think for a bit, but then again a break every now and then is always good.

In the end I move to my room, tossing myself face first onto the bed, not even bothering to close the door. Enjoying the fluffy blanket and soft pillow I begin to relax, ignoring the faint feeling of urgency filling my body.

Suddenly, while I'm trying to play some music, the sound of something cracking and tearing boomed into the room. I immediately flip myself over stopping as soon as I look up.

The roof has turned black with white rings full of gray circular patterns appearing all over the black sheet. The rings seem to be moving and twitching, expanding and contracting as the symbols begin to fuse and change.

Gray rings full of white rectangular symbols began to appear all over the roof forcefully pushing the grey rings towards the center After both kinds of rings filled the roof the black began to expand and drop. Slowly black ink and strange circles flow down the walls.

Suddenly my sense of fear overwhelmed the strange sense of expectation I feel. I try to stand up and run but before I can the rings and symbols wrap around me with grey spots forming above, bellow, and next to me. A jade color fills the gaps between each ring.

The grey spots began to grow and extend forming spikes the size of my head. Suddenly they exploded out piercing into my sides, head, and legs.

I scream out In pain as the symbols, darkness, and jade light flow through the spikes into my body.

-An Unknown Amount Of Time Later-

"Fuck my head." I rub my forehead with my knuckles trying to soothe the pain to no avail. After a few seconds I sit up and look around.

"Why in the hell am I naked?", I say as I I begin to look for my phone by rubbing my arms across the bed.

"Damn it seriously why does school have to start so early.", I roll to the left side of my bed and grab for my phone unfortunately it isn't there. "Fuck it I'll just put on some lazy pants and that old shirt."

I walk up to the closet grab my old office shirt with that glasses guy on the front then move to a small shelf next to bed and grab some big red sports shorts from the bottom shelf and a pair of black socks from the second to the last shelf.

I sit down get dressed, grab my shoes from the left side of my bed, grab my wallet, and check the bathroom for my phone, checking the time as soon as I find it.

"Alright then I guess it's a late day." The screen says its ten a.m so I'll probably miss a period or two.

I move back to my room grab my headphones and backpack from the left side and walk to the front door fumbling around with the head phone's cord. After untangling my headphones I open the door, head down the drive way steps, and turn right at the side walk.

I put on some Psyqui and begin my walk down the neighborhood. Nobody should be out so I go ahead and put on the latest chapter release of beastars and begin reading as I walk.

Eventually I make it to the neighborhood entrance. I take out an earbud, look to my left, and take a right turn after making sure no cars are coming.

And so my walk continues.

I go straight for another fifteen minutes and make it to a crosswalk. "Eh I'm already late might as well stop by the gas station and get some chips for lunch."

I begin to mash the cross lights button completely ignoring the constant repetition of red light red light you may not cross. After around two or three minutes the light finally turns green.

"GREEN LIGHT GREEN LIGHT YOU MAY CROSS."

"Fuck that's loud." I say as I cross the road and go into the gas station.

"Welcome."

"Good morning."

For some reason the moment I see the cashier a sharp headache suddenly slammed into my head. Thankfully it only lasted for a second.

I rub my forehead a bit then walk to the chip aisle."Ranch or salsa verde...Green bag it is."I grab a bag of green chips off the shelf and go to the back so I can grab a soda.

"Of course its gotta be root beer." I grab a bottle of root beer and head to the cashier.

Theres one person ahead of me. An old lady wearing some formal black pants, a pink blazer, and a flower embroidered red shirt. She only has a a pair of powdered donuts and a can of ginger ale.

"That'll be five bucks and seventy eight cents."

"Here you go."

She pays, he bags, then she leaves, and finally after around two or three minutes it's my turn to pay.

"That'll be four bucks fifty eight cents."

I pull my card out of my wallet and pay.

"No need for a bag."

"Okay sir have a good day."

"Sure. You too."

I put my chips in the front of my backpack where I keep my calculator and slide the soda into a small net on the side.

"See ya later."

I walk out the door and head to the cross walk getting ready for another annoying wait. Impatiently, I begin mashing the large button on the side of the light once again hoping that'll speed things up a bit.

"Why did I say see ya later? Guess it was just a moment of akwardness."

The light turns green, I cross, go left, and after a bit of walking I'm on campus. I go to the math and science building and head downstairs so I can head to class.

"Alright let's get this day over with." I open the door, ignoring the teacher and take a seat next to my all day classmate.

"Sorry I'm late I overslept."

"You know the drill."

"Sir it's way past passing period so I don't think I'll be able to get a late slip. Just mark me absent."

"Fine then. Go ahead and copy todays notes off your friend okay."

I feel the edge of a notebook gently tap my shoulder. "I gotcha." Next to me a chubby teen with brown curly hair and a thick beard. He gives me a light smile and opens his notebook.

"Thanks man.", I say to him.

Suddenly, the moment I begin to copy his notes the fire alarm goes off. The speakers blare as a warning is givin about a suspicious individual on campus.

"Shit. Alright class this is not a drill everyone go to the corner of the room, turn off your ringers, and quite down while I turn off the lights and lock the door."

Following the teachers orders I move to the back of the room."Shit, that's the suspicious dude alarm right?" I whisper to the teacher.

He gives a silent not and puts his finger on his lips. This is real. There really is someone dangerous walking around the school. As the realization comes to me a heavy chill fills my body. I try to calm down but the chill grows stronger by the second.

Suddenly, my head explodes with the memories of this morning. Something begins to flow out my mouth, nose, and eyes covering my face slowly spreading to my chest.

As the liquid covering my head hardens my skin begins to turn pale white. Suddenly I'm wearing a large white mask. Ignoring the screams of fear and confusion I open the door and walk down the hallway.

My hands they've become thicker no they've doubled in size. They're covered in white fur and my nails have become longer with a sharp curve downward. The bottom tip of my fingers appear to have grown a small bone.

I continue to move, a strong scent unfamiliar to me appearing. By instinct I follow, the chill growing stronger every step.

"Shit, todays a wierd one.", I say with a heavy sigh.
