I'm sorry to give an update so soon after the last one. I thought about putting this off until things were more certain, but thought letting you know now would be less cruel.
I've been writing like mad the last month or so. I was averaging almost a chapter a day for a time until...
My hand started hurting.
I tried cutting back, but it wasn't really getting better. I finally went to a friend and he smacked it around a couple of times and gave me the verdict.
Cut down on your typing or look forward to surgery.

I really want to write this story. I've been spending hours every week writing and going over my notes. I really want to meet the January deadline I gave you guys. Indeed, I still might. However, I'm not so enraptured by the deadline that I'm willing to go under the knife.
I still might make my January self-appointed deadline. The uncertainty is why I thought about delaying, but it wouldn't be fair to tell you a week before that I'd have to delay the story again.
There is still hope. I've been researching speech-to-text apps and although I don't think they'll be as fast as writing, it may be enough for me to build up chapters while I let my hand heal.
But there is a good chance the release will be delayed, and I wanted to assure you that regardless of the verdict the story isn't dead.
Thanks for all the support, and sorry about the (potential) delay!
