Our Bao young master seems to be on a small winning streak. I need him to lose, but there’s no need to take action, I’ll leave it up to my dear friends. As expected, the owner of the establishment cues the dealer at a table, and slowly, our young master starts winning less.
It’s a dice game he’s playing, so it’s not hard to guess how it was manipulated.
He starts getting frustrated after losing thrice, he starts betting less, as he looks at his funds dwindle quite a bit.
I signal with my eyes at Leticia, as I move over, bumping into the Bao young master. This was right as he was about to place his bet. As expected, he loosens his hand slightly from the shock. This small loosening makes him drop all the chips he has on hand.
Normally, there would be time for him to retract his bet from the betting corner. However, my dear friends wouldn’t pass up a chance to make money. The dealer has a glint in his eye, instantly stopping the betting and rolling the dice.
There’s no suspense here, he loses.
He turns around quickly in anger.
“You bumped into me, didn’t you!”, he cries out in anger.
“I-I just wanted to watch closer, I didn’t mean it!”, I express indignantly, seemingly horrified.
Watching my pitiful appearance, he rides on his newfound confidence, expressing, “I don’t care, you better pay me back!”
I take out a small satchel with a few silvers and coppers, passing it to him fearfully.

“I only have this much…”
It’s not enough to cover his huge loss of course. He betted almost 1 gold.
“I lost more than that! You better take me to your family to claim the rest, otherwise…”, seeing that I had silvers, he guessed I was at least of a decent family and was trying to take advantage of that. As he says this, he motions for his guard to show up.
A burly looking man stands next to him, cracking his knuckles to show a threatening aura. By now everyone’s watching the commotion.
“I-I can’t say, mother would punish me…”, I mutter, loud enough for him to hear.
“You better tell me, this is your last chance, before I let him go loose on you.”, he says calmly. He stopped being as angry from the prospect of being able to cover his losses, maybe even more.
I pretend of think seriously, frowning for a while. I grit my teeth, saying, “I can’t tell!”’, putting on some weak bravado.
He gets irritated at this, “You asked for this.”, he motions his guard to move into action, as he throws a punch at me. I stand still to take the punch, as an apprentice mage I have a slightly more sturdy body than normal people, there’s still some redness though.
The guards simply ignore this, as fighting was quite common here. As long as no one tries to steal money or threaten the dealers, they ignore it. Now, they simply look amusedly.
Thinking it was too soft, he continues, throwing 2 more harder punches, one grazing me, causing my left cheek to bleed.
“How about now? Will you talk?”, he continues to pursue as he motions for the guard to stop.
“Leticia.”, I call, as Leticia and my guards appear.
My two young knights stand on both sides of me, before releasing their Knight’s Aura together.
Knight’s Aura is only possessed by trained knights, and the higher one’s level is, the more suppression it has on weaker parties. Both of my knight guards are Rank 3, in contrast to a normal noble’s Rank 1 guard. We’re a military family, hence it’s not rare for us to have stronger manpower by taking in retired knights or their adolescent children.
The originally idle guards in the den lose their amused faces, becoming pale with fright and frozen by the aura. The burly man freezes too, as some of the remaining commoners kneel from the aura.
“R-Rank 3 Knights!”, the Bao young master stutters.
I smile in reply, coldly addressing, “You have just assaulted high ranking nobility. That too in public.Aren’t you good, oh young master of the Bao family.”
His face is pale from despair, even though my knights have stopped releasing their auras, he still doesn’t manage to say anything.
I continue, raising my voice, shouting, “GUARDS! DRAG THEM BOTH OUTSIDE!”
“Yes, young master.”, they reply swiftly, as they grab hold of the burly man and the Bao family’s young master by their necks, restraining them with their Knight’s Aura.
As I walk out along with the guards, Leticia finds a plump man seated by the side, whispering coldly to him, “Our young master doesn’t want any of what happened to be spread. Otherwise…”
I instructed earlier for her to find the owner, who must be somewhere within. It’s not hard, since normal people would be kneeling from the Aura, but the owner must have some training at least.
Now, let’s take good care of our dear Bao young master, shall we?
