The young man forcibly dragged himself out of his chair and into the capsule before him. He couldn't bear waiting any longer, the excitement was just too much. Once he was inside he powered it up, ready to walk once more.

His finger immediately jabbed the 'Yes', a white light filling his vision until he was standing in a blank room. A voice emanated from seemingly nowhere explaining the game to him, but he wasn't able to pay any attention. He was standing! On his own two legs! Recalling what he had read on the net about becoming a Knight he quickly began to go through the options menu.

Kai looked at the 3D model of himself floating in the air. His blue eyes were sunken in, his hair disheveled, his height below average, and his legs looked like sticks. The only thing good about him were his arms, which were only slightly muscular. Kai began to customize his looks, filling out his legs so that they matched the rest of him and giving himself a military haircut. Soon the only detail left was his height. 'Well, I'm going to be a Knight after all. Being too tall wouldn't be good for the horse.' With a shrug he set his height to 175 cm, finally ready to start his adventure.

One moment he was in a featureless void, the next in a sprawling city. The Kallamore Kingdom, the birthplace of Chivalry and Honor! With a massive grin Kai took his first steps forward since he was 8 years old...
...and promptly fell on his face. Kai's face burned red with embarrassment as he heard snickers from nearby, his misfortune witnessed by other players. He rushed to get up and stumble away, trying his hardest to get away from others before he made more of a fool of himself. By the time he made it to the Training Hall his health was already flashing red from falling. How shameful it would have been to die from tripping over his own two feet.
Puffing out his chest, Kai strutted over to the instructor. "Greetings! I have come to begin my training to undergo the path of Knighthood!" He tried to appear dignified but the numerous scrapes on his hands and knees gave him away. The instructor looked down at Kai with pity before handing him a wooden sword. "Try not to hit yourself, alright?"
With his new weapon in hand Kai approached a wooden training dummy to begin. He wondered how long he would be able to hit it, how much stats he would gain! In the end Kai managed to wildly strike the dummy for an hour straight before his boredom got the best of him, leading him to abandon the Training Hall for something more interesting. It might have just been his imagination, but as he walked by the instructor he thought he heard a snort of derision.
Kai went searching for quests until he found a messageboard. 'Dishwasher. Dishwasher. Boot Polisher. Armor Carrier. Aren't there any fun jobs available?' He was about to give up and become a Boot Polisher when he saw the listing for Courier. 'Courier! Yes! I can run around and make money at the same time!' With an expression of childlike glee Kai ran to the Courier's Post.
