Ada I:
Ada viewed the city below, her mask of indifference placed firmly on her face. In truth this opportunity was more important to her than it was for the average soldier. So she would see it through. This mission has to succeed. She found herself zoning out, only breaking free when the sound of her captain broke through to her.
“Ada, Are you listening?” He said, with his “captain voice” on. This was serious and she looked foolish for not paying attention. Choosing the truth she simply shook her head. Chris simply sighed and spoke again.
“I was saying that the man dealing with our target is named Eugene. He’s a known weapons dealer but this isn’t one of his usual businesses. Our intel says he’s serving as a customer to our real target. An anonymous dealer from the A.L.F.“
Ada perked up at the last part.
“A.L.F making a move? It’s been a long time since one of them actually made an appearance.” John said from his corner. He had his head in one hand, looking out the window.
“It has, so this mission will be done throughly. No room for mistakes.” Chris warned.
“It ain’t no problem, right Emma?!” Ben shoved the girl playfully, making her stumble in her seat all the while keeping that carefree smile. Emma nodded nervously, rubbing her shoulder.
“What’s being exchanged Chris? What could they want from this Eugene? He’s a typical arms dealer.” Ada found herself speaking again.
“It’s hard to say but from what we know about them already…it’s mostly likely some kind of illegal drug or even a virus. So make sure to have your masks ready.” Chris replied, he rubbed the stubble on his chin. She couldn’t pinpoint if he was nervous
Roughy half an hour passed and they’ve finally reached the city. The chopper landing on the rooftop of one of their company buildings. Everyone gathered themselves, making sure their gear was up to par. Ada waited, caressing her side arm whilst she looked down into the city. Chris approached her from the left.
“You told me you were ready for this.” He said.
“I am ready for this.” Ada bit back, quickly she took a deep breath before she spoke again.
“I got lost in thought. Won’t happen again.”
Chris raised an eyebrow at that, a giveaway that he was studying her face. She hated when he did that. Eventually he relented, stepping to the side. The team sets off, taking an elevator down the building. Upon their exit, a truck was waiting for them. Benjamin got into the driver seat, Chris in the passenger. Emma and Ada sat behind them, while John reluctantly took the seat in the far back.
Benjamin drove them through the busy streets, the gps automatically set to the deal spot. Ada surveyed the road when they got within half a mile of their destination. Checking for any potential escape vehicles or back up. Alas it all seemed normal. A large warehouse came into view, quite distant from the nearest street with any people. Perfectly ideal for any illegal activity.
The truck stopped, Ben got them a corner away from the warehouse and parking them. Wordlessly they each got out of the car, going through the back. The warehouse was huge but there wasn’t anyone inside.
“Perfect we’re right on time.” She heard Chris say. It seemed with an early arrival they’d get the whole thing. Nobody says a word, exchanging glances every now and then.
After ten minutes, the sound of the warehouse entrance opening shakes the building. The rusty metal making a loud screeching noise. Ada tries to listen beyond it, daring to even peep through the cracks of the door to see who came in.
A short and stout man in an expensive suit alongside three guards were there. One of the guards held a silver suitcase.
‘The money.’ Ada thought.
Chris peeked out beside her, motioning for the team to look at him. He mouthed the word “Eugene.” The buyer was here, his distributor was not.
“Where the hell are they!” Eugene yelled, the short man lit a cigarette, angrily inhaling it. He paced around the room, kicking scrap metal over whenever his patience wore thin again.

Roughly ten minutes passed before the familiar screeching sound of metal echoed throughout the building again. This time three guards and a hooded figure entered the room. It was a woman by the build. Ada’s hands clenched into fists. This must be the dealer sent by the A.L.F.
Chris signaled for them to wait, his gaze pointed at Ada. She grit her teeth but stood down. Keeping her eyes on the deal.
But the moment he gave the order, she’d relish in taking them down.

Jaene II:
Jaene felt like curling into a ball and dying where she stood. Eugene was obnoxious and loud. If it weren’t her orders she wouldn’t even dream of handing over her hard work to him. Reaching inside the canister they brought, she took out the vial. Inside was a dark red fluid. It swirled, captivating her.
“That’s it huh? A hundred and twenty million for that little thing seems almost ridiculous. But I trust it works as intended?” Eugene said, the way he doubted her work and caressed his brief case made Jaene sick.
“It does.“ She said plainly.
Eugene stared her down, before sending his guard forward with the briefcase. She did the same. They did their exchange, business was done. Jaene almost walked away before she remembered the extra order given to her by her father.
“One more thing.” She said, Eugene halted.
He turned, eyebrow raised in confusion.
“What now?”
“I’d like to see if you’re interested in dealing again. We’ve recently come up with a stronger, version, it’s takes longer to make but it makes that one look obsolete.” She wasn’t lying technically. It would be all that and more. In time. Eugene seemed interested in that, turning around to give her his full attention.
“How much?” He asked, sold on the idea of getting his hands on it but wary of the price.
Not expecting to get this far, Jaene hesitated. Seeing no one was here to help her, she took a gamble.
“Five Hundred.” She declared.
Eugene froze, Jaene could see the contemplation on his face. Logic wasn’t the man’s strong suit it seemed. His rationality was beaten by greed.
“Done.”
Jaene’s shoulders relaxed hearing this. She expected to be shut down and later face chastisement.
“Settled then. We meet at the usual place. You know the one. We’re not to meet here ever again.” The woman recounted the script given to her if she succeeded in enticing them into another deal.
Eugene’s eyes lit up in recognition as he nodded. He turned to make his way out when a loud crash came from the back of the wear house. Instantly their respective guards raised their guns, aiming at each other.
Eugene’s face went red with anger as he looked at her.
“You setting me up!?”
Jaene shook her head frantically.
“This isn’t me.”
Before either could speak further, five armed soldiers in grey gear came out. Two women and three men from the looks of their figure. They all had masks one, seemingly designed for the purpose of countering potential bio hazards. The one in the front was tall, and she could easily tell his figure was of peak muscularity. Their guards did the same, being met with the man’s soldiers aiming at them.
“Guns down, brief cases down. Hands in the air!” He shouted to them.
Jaene contemplated reaching for her own firearm but decided against it. She’d barely be able to hold it before they opened fire.
They were in a stand still, each side waiting for the other to move. Eugene looked like he was sick. Likely folding under the pressure. Jaene knew she couldn’t rely on him.
“If you don’t drop your weapons and get your hands in the air, we will open fire.” The man called out again.
Jaene decided to take a gamble. She couldn’t surrender here. She was too valuable. And knew far too much. But she also knew they couldn’t kill her. So she decided to use that.
“Fire!”
She called out to her guards. Instantly started shooting, the man and his soldiers taking cover. They fired back, as did Eugene’s. The bullets sailed through the air, glass shattering and the metal of the building sparking from the impacts.
She ducked behind cover, seeing Eugene frantically run around for safety. One of his guards fell, a bullet lodged in his head. The sight of the hole in his head leaking blood made Jaene rethink her risky plan. But there was no going back now. Still crouching she made her way to the exit, looking back to see one of her guards fall as well.
She couldn’t risk the virus getting obtained. Seeing as another of Eugene’s guards fell, it looked like it was going in that direction. Eugene attempted to come to her, only to have a bullet enter his leg. He fell to the ground, the virus container slipping from his hands rolling toward Jaene. Their eyes meet, and Jaene is forced to close hers as she grabs the virus and turns tail. She pushes the exit door open, a guard accompanying her.
A guard stayed behind to cover them while another escorted her to their helicopter. She heard yells from inside the building, clutching the items tightly as she boarded the chopper. Her breaths were frantic as it took off, watching the soldiers turn into small dots while they tried to catch up. After a few minutes she sighed in relief.
Mission accomplished.
