A Frame Apart

Yukino Fushigawa appears to be an average girl in secondary school, but she has actually experienced trauma inflicted by her parents from a young age and was heavily bullied when she was in school. When she turned 2, her parents were repulsed by her white hair appearance, causing them to always talkdown her looks or comment on her ugliness whenever they see her. In their beliefs, a child born with white hair is known to be a cursed child, set to bring nothing but downfall and dread to the family and the generations to come, forever cursing the bloodline. There were already signs of bad luck befalling the family as the house caught on fire mysteriously as soon as Yukino was born. The parents tried to deny the speculations at first, but as time went on and the dreadful luck continued, the parents were fully convinced.

She was cursed.

"You're as ugly as ever, how are you even my child?"

"You cursed child, when will you get out of this damn house?!?"

"I wish you were never born, you bring nothing but shame and dread to this family."

"Just kill yourself already, if you want to do something useful to this family for once, discard yourself from this household."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

These words were often heard by Yukino throughout her childhood and continued on until the present time.

Even in school, she was considered a bad omen, everybody would distance themselves from her, and even the teachers would force her to sit at the very back of the class alone and never bother to acknowledge her. After a few weeks of her starting secondary school, she was already a target of many bullying groups. They would go as far as almost drowning her in the toilet day in and day out.

The bullying was only getting worse as days went by, it was a surprise that Yukino could even last this long without breaking down.

That is until the day she finally couldn't take it anymore.

Yukino locked herself in her room for 3 days straight without going to eat or drink, she would lock herself in her room and miss school on purpose, and her parents didn't even care to check up on her or anything. As a matter of fact, they were happier that she wasn't around them. That brings them relief that the cursed child they had was not around them.

On the fourth day, she couldn't handle it anymore.

With her soulless eyes, she looked into the mirror one last time, to see her cursed look for herself, tears filled her eyes as she started to hit herself, begging to know the reason why she was born like this.

In the heat of the moment, she punched the mirror to destroy the reflection of her cursed self.

But instead of a broken mirror, she just phased through the mirror frame.

Before she knew it, she was in a vast plain, with a strong gust of wind blowing across the plain. With that gust of wind, came a dragon flying by in the starry night.

"Where am I?"

"Is this like a break in reality?"
