In the world and continent of Eldora, there are beings who go beyond human limits and are recognized by otherworldly existence, holding power enough to shake the world. To society, they are seen as heavenly gods, but even that wouldn't be quite accurate as they are still originally born from man. And so, they go for a more established name -- Governors.
The First Court of Governors, ruled by the Progenitor Goddess Eurasia, prospered for hundreds of years, her reign establishing the mighty power of the Court. With unbound power, they ruled and were respected like Gods, untouchable by mortal means. However, following a coup d'état led by a being that would later be called No-Name, the entire world was thrown into chaos, with the opposing power murdering the entire Court within a span of five days -- this interval later being known as the Period of Sorrow. Straight after the death of Eurasia, the son disappeared from the world as if he never existed in the first place, and it was only then were the remaining Governors -- those who had hidden or run away -- able to reestablish the Court and once again rule over the Capitol.

The peace lasted for another six hundred years before another major event threatened the world -- a brutal war that later became known as the Cataclysm.
The power struggle between beings from the Abyss and Governors lasted for decades, with the fight becoming a war of attrition for both sides. It was only after the current Head Governor took charge of the war and decisively led the Court's forces to victory, driving the last remnants of monsters back down to the Abyss.
Under the new leadership, the Court once again prospered and brought another long period of serenity to Eldora.

"Did you hear? That wayward Governor is back in the Capitol!"
"What wayward?"
"Governor Noah, of course! That one cursed with bad luck!"
"That disaster General?!"
"What horrible news!"
"Why would that guy return at a time like this?!"
"He's bound to cause the Second Cataclysm at this rate!"
"Dear Lord...!"
