Prologue: The Boy Who Fell From the Sky

“So I grabbed the ghoul, it’s goddamn entrails spilling out onto me, attracting who knows how many flesh eaters...”

“Just shut up already Artum, this story’s a load of lies anyway.”

Artum glared at Flori from across the campfire, the pouch of ale held loosely in his hand, spilling slightly.

“I haven’t heard the story before Flori, let him finish!”

“Thank you Naeva, at least someone here knows what a hero’s tale sounds like,” Artum said, pointing at Naeva who sat next to him with a smile on her face and flushed cheeks.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

“As I was saying,” Artum shot a look at Flori. “I used this sword here,” he said as he pulled out a medium-length iron sword from its scabbard, clumsily bumping into some of his leather and metal armor, “and I sliced its head clean off!”

Artum broke into laughter while Naeva joined him, Flori could only watch in amazement as her two drunk companions acted like fools.

Suddenly, her hunter senses told her that there was something wrong…

“Something’s coming… Something’s coming!”

The clan party did their best to get down on the ground as large blasts of blue, purple, and pink filled the sky. A fiery ball from the sky got closer and closer, breaking the sound barrier with a sonic boom!

Artum, Flori, and Naeva watched fearfully as the meteor grew closer and closer, heading for a part of the forest nearby. The comet flew above their heads, landing a mile or two away with a furious shake.

The three novice adventurers had no clue that within that meteor was a hero capable of impossible feats, with the power to change the world of Zepra forever. Isobel Black had entered the game.
