9 YOKE OF WINGS
THE FORGOTTEN ONE 1.1

THE FORGOTTEN ONE 1.1

It was raining shower in the area of Santa Coloma, Andorra. There were not many people sitting by their windows to enjoy the rain, because of the clouds that were rumbling like it was end of the world and were threatening everything below them to cower in fear through lightening. Leave children, even adults looked afraid of it. But if you pay close attention to one inconspicuous man, wearing rundown raincoat and was moving along the streets jumping over the fence of a house and hiding under the window, all these actions were done in one swift move without alarming anyone. You could see that he was trying to look inside the house through the window which was present at the side of the back garden. Everything about this situation didn't look decent, it felt as if something ominous was going to happen, and it was going to happen very soon.

In a seemingly whispering voice the man muttered "Oh it seems no one's around…. don't have time…..have to take him with me...." the house which he was trying to infiltrate for something/ someone wasn't that different, it was the same as any other house you would find around the area, normal houses owned by common people of Andorra. He looked up and stared intently at the sky, seemingly waiting for something to happen. He picked up a muddy stone from the wet ground with his left hand and positioned it in front of the glass window, still looking above. As if the sky answered his calling, a bright flash passed through clouds and land below illuminating his half covered face for a brief second. The man waited for three seconds and smashed the window into sparkling crystals. The sound of loud thunder overwhelmingly drowned the sound of glass breaking. The man secretly heaved a sigh of relief and entered inside the storeroom. Dark and gloomy with the sound of pitter-patter of the rain that was the first impression.

Too much nervous to make any sound, the man tiptoed from the broken window to a corner of the storeroom. He removed his hoodie and wiped his face with the back of his hand. Even if he perspiring, no one would notice it because he was drenched from head to toe by the heavy rainfall outside, his raincoat doing little of its job to keep away the rain. Adrenaline still coursed through his blood, making him take action before anyone noticed the sound of the howling air coming inside the room through the window he had broken. He opened the cover below the ground, which was unnoticeable until now, and pressed the handle sideways, which was present on what seemed like a door, but it was on the floor. It opened with a click and he peered inside of it. It was too dark to see inside of it. Still, he carefully and cautiously traded his steps on the stairs leading below the secret room. He counted his steps inside his mind until he touched the ground. He muttered to himself in a low voice as if to confirm something, "23 that should be it…" Just as he was tiptoeing forward, he heard the sound of someone digging the ground. A jolt of electricity ran through his body. He cautiously hid himself behind the scrap sofa, placed just some steps to the right from where he entered the secret room. How he could see in that dark environment you would ask, right? That was because of the minor source of illumination coming from the middle of the room, where he heard the sound of digging.
