Day 14 negative
A stroll outside
It’s a funeral. But it’s so empty. It feels so strange seeing such an empty funeral. Let me see how many people are there. 1,2,3,4,5, just 5, huh. Who are they? For some reason I can’t see their faces. By the looks of it, it seems like it’s the funeral of that person I saw last night. For what I could remember, his hair had become completely white and he seemed to be relatively young for someone to have white hair. It has never happened before. I have to be careful to not cause the death of this person. I don’t recognise this place. How stupid of me to think a cremation ground will be recognised by me. Everything is getting blurry, seems like its time for me to wake up.

Huh, that dream. I think I should not tell my parents about this. It’s just too depressing. Let me just get off my bed.
It’s really boring today. I don’t feel like going online today.
I think I should take a stroll and I might as well invite Yoru while I’m at it. Let me get changed real quick.
“Maa, I’m going out.”
“Okay, be back by noon.”
I always hesitated to go to Yoru’s house because his mother disliked me. The main reason was that she thought I would be a bad influence for him. Mainly because she thinks I’m a high school dropout. But I never attended high school in the first place. I stopped going to school after graduating middle school. But I never stopped learning. It’s just that she doesn’t believe it. The only reason I get to hand around him is because I am the first person he considers a friend.
“I hope his father is around when I go to call him.”
As I was walking towards his house, I saw him and his father walking towards my direction. I planned to hide for by the looks of it they were having a father-son bonding time but I couldn’t.
“Oh, hey it’s Shiroy-kun.” Yoru called out to me before I could hide.
“It’s nice to meet you Mr. Yamagi. It looks like both of you are going somewhere.”
“Yes, we are going to get some groceries. How about you join us.” his father asks politely.
“I must reject. I would just be a burden for you.”
“Don’t worry, you’re not a burden for anyone. We would be glad if you tagged along. After all you always helped my son when he needed someone.”
“Yeah, exactly what he said.” Yoru adds to the conversation.
“Well, if you insist. I would be bad for me to reject any more.”
We go to the departmental store. Once inside, Mr. Yamagi took out a large piece of paper from his back pocket. It had only a counted few items, but I knew that Mr. Yamagi had brought a large piece of paper as a comedic relief.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
“Kids, help me with getting the groceries all right.” Mr. Yamagi asked us politely.
“Sure” “Gotcha” both of us reply.
I chose to go to the vegetables section, Yoru chose the snacks section and his father went to get the laundries.
“Let’s see. First, it’s this… and… that… and that. It’s quite a small list for groceries. Maybe it’s just for today. Oh well, I should not question what they buy. While I’m at it, I should buy some apples to for what money I have left from yesterday.”
After getting the vegetables, I walked straight towards the fruits section. When it came to apples, I am really picky. I’m not going to get just any apple just because it’s fresh, I need it to give of a good first impression by giving off a good smell.
As I was looking at the apples, a man not much taller than me came and picked one apple and took a bite from it.
“Sir, I think you need to buy the apple first before you eat it” as I was saying that, I glanced a look at him. By the looks of it, he was just 2 or 3 years older than me. But what surprised me, was his hair. Completely white just like the person I saw.
” You can see me?” he asked before I could tell him about that dream.
“What do you mean?”
“Just forget that you saw me. Just like everyone.”
With that he walked away and I couldn’t talk to him properly as I was trying to process what he said. I was just there, standing, forgotten about the getting the apples.
“What are you standing there for?” Yoru come up behind me and pats on my shoulder. “We should go back to my father if you’re done”
“Yeah, I think we should.”
We go back to find that Mr. Yamagi had been waiting at the checkout counter for us.
“You kids done?”
“Yes dad. Here are the snacks.” “And here are the veggies.” We hand them the items and soon leave the store.
On the way home, the three of us stop nearby an EcDonalds.
“Why don’t we go in.” Mr. Yamagi said
“Yes that would be great.” Yoru said
“I think I won’t go. I don’t want you to spend extra just because of me.”
“Don’t be shy, you were of great help today. You deserve a treat too. Isn’t that right son.” Mr. Yamagi said.
“Yeah just like he said.” Yoru replied.
“If you insist.”
We go in, and place our orders. Mr. Yamagi and Yoru chose Mac Big and I on the other hand chose a medium milkshake. A plain milkshake.

Soon, our orders arrived. While both of them were eating, I was thinking of that person with white hair. His hairs were comparatively longer than the ones I saw in my dream.
“Oi, Shiroy-kun, your milkshake, drink it before it loses its flavour.” Yoru says out of nowhere.
“Oh, Yeah I should.”
We competed finishing our food, Mr. Yamagi paid for the food and then we left.

While walking, we reached the diversion where our paths split.
“See you later then, Mr. Yamagi and Yoru.”
And thus, we split paths. After walking for some time, I stop and walk back towards the store to look for the man. After searching for two hours, I couldn’t find the man and just gave up.
I thought about not telling my parents about this. They would start worrying like the time I first told them about me. I guess my strolling was a total failure.
So, I chose to head back home. Both my parents were out, so I just went to my room and slept the rest of the day.
