Prologue

Deep underground in an abandoned facility where the very core of Earth started to rot was a cosy place for a couple of young adults to do their science fairs. Even though this place was filled with every imaginable stinks this still remained a peaceful and cosy place for our young scientists. They needed a large place where they could experiment on… things, a place where no one can hear your echoes anymore.

No one really asked the leader scientist how he found the place. He just did. He said he mysteriously stumbled upon the space one day while he was hiking in the forest. Of course they believed him even though it felt like a huge coincidence, but people loved coincidences because they made people lives easier or at least they mistaken coincidences for luck but not every coincidence is made out of luck. Yes, some are there, but some are planted, but no one cared. They were just lucky they found a place to stay at last.

They used every corner of the space they had eventually reforming the underground part of the area. They weren’t just scientist of course they were researchers of the paranormal. Everyone these days kept talking about all the alien invasions that happened so far in the decade but what about paranormal activities. Why did people stop talking about them? The group was thinking what would be the best way making people realise that the paranormal could be as dangerous as aliens. Ghosts, eldritch beings such as gods, monsters, unpleasant orbs they were everywhere or at least they noticed them but were they really the only ones noticing these creatures entering their worlds because they were so sure these creatures didn’t exist till the 21st century or at least there weren’t that many documentations about them, but the numbers increased significantly in the last couple of years.

So this group decided to keep it secret for now. Collect every piece there could be and keep it secure from humanity. The goal was simple enough. Don’t let humanity get a hold on these items because the destruction could be disastrous. Just let a couple of adults handle the stress on their shoulders because they know the best.

Many years passed since they found this place and their collection started to grow more and more locking up creatures, overanalysing them, finding a deeper meaning for their existence. The place started to feel more and more crowded as the place got filled one by one. It was meant to happen once they were just pushing their luck. Suddenly the dark underground was filled with a worrying red when hell broke loose. Every possible creature escaping, running for their lives, running to get THEIR lives.

“What’s happened Jake?”

“I’m not too sure. Someone broke something that’s for sure.” They both were sitting in a booth protected by glass as they watched chaos unfold.

“What time is it?”

“Almost midnight.”

“Then it’s not too late.”

“Too late for what?” but Jake didn’t get his answer. He didn’t get anything anymore. Some levers were pulled, some buttons were pushed and it was like magic for him. Then in a second there was nothing. Just brightness. Just nothing. It’s time to wake up.
