Lub dub.

Lub dub.

Lub dub.

Lub dub.

Lub dub.

Lub dub.

Fast heartbeat is the only thing he had heard, accompanied by the shallow breathing from running too fast for his body to do.

Scanning his surroundings, he took every turns and street that he's familiar, but the scenery was too quiet.

Too scary for him.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

He never thought that when he woke up, this would be the thing he will discover.

An endless eerie night.

The place he was well-known since his childhood has its different silence in the air: menacing, scary and suffocating. No matter how he tries to look at every window, no lights were on.

No cars on the street, lamp posts weren't lit, and the street was clean; compared to the usual loud and messy street he was used to.

Despair.

Terror.

Ire.

Misery.

Dread.

Gloom.

Savage.

Barbarous.

Entities that he thought never exist and were just bedtime stories were lurking at every corner of his eyes, giving him chills in his spine.

Myths that were made to scare kids were indeed real.

And now, he's scared shitless.

He knows that he doesn't have a chance to escape the hellish place. And if he did, he swears to the religion he's in that he will do everything just to not relive this place again.

But prayers aren't answered in that place; it was the darkest and deepest realm that even angels don't dare to enter.

He stopped to take a breather in an alley he's familiar. Pondering things, he's regretting things that he had done terribly.

But it didn't last long.

The silent but powerful step was coming from behind. It didn't hold any malice; rather, it radiates fear, sending to the alley.

The guy froze from where he was currently standing. The fear he feels wasn't only from inside him; it was surrounding him, suffocating and chaining him. He can't turn around, fearing on what he will see if he did.

The figure comes closer to him slowly this time, savouring the fear he sensed from his prey. It gets stronger as it strides closer.

And it that alley, a scream pierced, resonating to the whole dead silent city.

Giving music to the noiseless place.
