HERITAGE - 2000 CE

Part 1:

At the turn of the 21st century, we encounter Elena, a curious young woman who discovers an unusual place, not far from home. It is through her recently passed grandmother's diary and the writings within, that she finds the location of what she only thought was a fairytale. Eager to discover what lies within, Elena steps beyond the safety of her town into the forest beyond. She searches eagerly for the secret nestled among the ancient oaks, the silent witnesses to ages past. Several long hours pass and she finds herself entering a clearing untouched by time. A home to a series of stone archways etched with symbols that pulse with a verdant light, crisp against the stonework.

With eyes wide and mouth agape, Elena slowly approaches the surreal masonry before her. Before long, the day gives way to twilight and the archways awaken, rotating slits of green energy appearing at the center of each arch, breathing life into portals that shimmer against the encroaching darkness. She peers through one, only to see a grand structure, one she recognizes as the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Its pillars are not the ruins she remembers, but restored to their former glory, illuminated as if the gods themselves are present to witness their consecration. It's as though the mists of time part before her eyes, revealing the inaugural majesty of the ancient past.

Part 2:

Elena feels a tug by a force as mysterious as it is compelling. She feels drawn to the portals and what lies beyond them. As she walks past another one, she sees the Great Pyramid of Khufu in Giza. It stands not as weathered brittle stones, but as a gleaming alabaster monument under a sun that witnesses the birth of civilizations. Another doorway offers a glimpse into a dense jungle. Elena pauses to observe the lush greenery only for it to momentarily part and reveal the stepped pyramid of Chichén Itzá. Of Mayan make, its presence is as commanding and vibrant as the culture that once flourished around it.

It is then that the air pulsates with the weight of millennia. These gateways to ancient lands are not the only thing that resides in the vale. An elemental force emerges—the Green Flame. It speaks to Elena, yet not with words or phrases, but through visions that it implants directly into her mind. It offers the heritage of her ancestors, inviting her to become a guardian of these paths across time and space.

Part 3:

As Elena considers the entity’s offer, the sky contorts and births a symbol ablaze with green flames. Its segments slowly rotate in anticipation for her response. After a deep breath, she speaks the ancient words of acceptance. They flow from her mouth, whispers of her duty to stand watch over these mystical gates. The symbol in the sky slowly breaks apart, each piece drifting over to her and settling on her skin. 

From the darkness, figures robed in emerald step forth. Elena’s ancestors form a circle, silent sentinels bearing witness to her initiation. She accepts the Green Flame with her body as it forms a cloak that mirrors its sage color. When the process is complete, she moves away from the roaring fire and approaches the portal to the Temple of Apollo.

As Elena steps forward, her destiny forever entwined with the stewardship of these gateways, the knowledge of ages is revealed to her. The Green Flame is but another name for Tulzscha, a force older than myth. A dancing blaze in the void. She is now a bridge between the worlds of her ancestors and the cosmic realms beyond, her path irrevocably linked to the watchful gaze of Tulzscha.
