Synopsis

[18+ ONLY]Before reading, be aware that while it is part of a larger storyline, this book does contain strong and explicit sexual content and references to se*ual a**ault, and is not intended for readers under the age of 18      “For all intents and purposes, she seems just like any other sweet 19-year old girl, but she’s so shrouded in mystery. Who is she? Where did she come from? And why did I find her all alone crying on the streets? But the strangest part of all of it is… she’s a kobold. If I don’t help her she’s gonna be killed or worse, but I don’t want to overstep and try to help if she doesn’t need it. There’s something about her, though — she made my heart light up from the moment I saw her, and it breaks my heart to see her like this. I’ll wait and see how it goes, but I can only hope she accepts the help she needs — if not, I fear for what may happen to her.”      When 20-year-old Percival Endicott hears a desperate cry from busy streets of the local market town, he happens upon something that he never expected, and will change his life forever. The only time kobolds are allowed in the city is when they’re being sold as slaves to work until their backs break at the hands of the heartless elite — so when he finds a young kobold girl scared, beaten, and half-naked all alone in the city streets, he knows he has to help her somehow.      Taking her in, he slowly comes to learn more about who she is and where she came from, unveiling terrible things about her past that’s left her with horrible trauma and emotional wounds that he can only begin to understand. But as he does his best to nurture her and help heal the scars of the past, powerful feelings begin to blossom between them.      As he helps teach her to navigate the feelings that she had feared and repressed for so long, a love grows between them that neither of them had ever dreamed of. Through the weeks and months that follow, slowly she comes to realize that in spite of whatever came before, the past is in the past.      The situation is scary and difficult, but with help from a kindness that she’s never felt before, it may yet be possible for her to learn: Her wants, feelings, and desires are not to be feared or ashamed of, and that even in spite of all the pain from the past, she can still rise above all her bruises and explore herself freely, truly, and with a love at her side to keep her going through all the good times and the bad. (Please note that although the female lead in this story is characterized as a soft-spoken, gentle, ‘Girl-in-Need,’ those are traits specific to her character and her story, and is in no way intended to represent any groups of people as a whole in any way. I’ve done my best to present it as respectfully as possible, and to include a diverse array of personalities for male and female characters)
