Japan is the most technologically advanced country in the world, its government wanted to experiment in its population the use of Advanced Personal Androids (APA) which use a wireless-brain connection. Over the years, APAs quickly became a commodity, causing people to completely lose interest in making "real" contact with each other. Ichikawa Minoru is the only one in his school who does not attend classes using an APA, because unlike his other classmates, he is dissatisfied with his daily life as a student.
