(This novella is unfinished... as yet) Ch 1 - This story is set several hundred years into the future, when Mars and the Asteroid Belt have been colonised, mined, cultivated and more: a time when humans are comfortable with the idea of space travel, and technology has allowed them ready access to the inner planets of our solar system.  The outer planets are still in the realm of exploration and research, and a little far from Mother Earth for most travellers. There's been a murder on an old rust bucket of a government ship of no importance in the proximity of one of Jupiter's less significant moons.  A couple of military police are sent out to investigate.  There are questions about the crew as well as the skipper, and the evidence is colder than a frozen chicken.  It's not looking hopeful...
