Luke Connors has always been more comfortable with machines than people. His hands work wonders on broken things, but when it comes to social situations, he’s a total misfit. Dragged to a party by his well-meaning sister, Luke expects an evening of awkward small talk and too-loud music. What he got was a nightmare, when the host is found brutally murdered—by something not quite human. When the police seem content to overlook clues, Luke starts to dig.  But the deeper he delves, the more he realizes that some doors, once opened, can never be closed. With his sister’s husband marked as the next victim, Luke faces an impossible choice: reject the terrifying world of the supernatural and risk losing his family or embrace the dark powers that come with it and become something he never wanted to be.
