Synopsis
For many years the world was kept safe. The Creator left us a champion whose power eclipsed any threat humanity could ever face. Wielding the great weapon Artifact, Hero, as he became known, used his vigilant eyes to detect all evil. With his gigantic stone body, he decimated any foe that could threaten us, but, as strong as Hero was, the wounds on his body never healed. We knew that he would not last forever. The evil wizard Merthal knew that as well. He conspired in his spire until the day of Hero’s yearly festival and summoned a demon powerful enough to destroy the very planet. Hero accepted the fight head-on. Colossi clashed against one another for ten days and ten nights until eventually, after a final confrontation, both lay defeated by the weapon of the other. Artifact shattered into pieces before reaching the heart of the monster.
“Dear humans, I’ve lost.”
Hero spoke as loudly as he could with all the wounds he was enduring: “Within the next hundred years, the demon’s heart would take root and try to finish the job of its bearer. But don’t fret! My successor will rise, someone special who will gather the fragments of Artifact and reform my blade. He would defeat evil’s root before the inevitable. That person who would take upon my mantle thereafter would become known as…
The Protagoni.”
That day was one hundred years ago.
