Weak Sauce

Deo made his way to the royal residence’s training ground. Wherever he walked, werewolves would stare in his direction for a moment, before quickly looking away. Did they fear him? Of course not. Most of them saw humans as an inferior species. But they didn’t dare look down on the monster behind him.

‘Monster’ was a suitable word to describe Anubis. The demon general was built for violence. Bulging muscles adorned his tall frame. Like Kreed, his eyes glowed red and horns grew out of head.

A werewolf opened the doors to the training ground for them. He stood very straight, avoiding eye contact and gulping as they passed him by.

Anubis lowered his head to avoid hitting the top of the doorway.

The training ground was a large, open space surrounded by walls. Five armed men awaited them inside - an axeman, a swordsman, a spearman, an archer, and a mage. They had once been soldiers of Ferdania's military during the Ferdania-Werewolf war.

"Anubis, I've gathered some of the strongest prisoners here so that you could test your new body." Deo extended his hand toward the group.

To motivate them, Deo had promised them their freedom if they could survive the ‘training exercise.’ Of course, he didn’t expect them to stand a chance against the demon general, who was supposedly stronger than the werewolf lord.

"One hand. Yes, that should be more than enough." Anubis put one hand behind his back.

Deo raised his eyebrows. “Are you sure?”

Anubis moved toward the fighters.

They reacted by backing away. Their weapons trembled in their hands.

Wiping sweat away from his forehead, the swordsman yelled at the others. "Do not despair, he's just one werewolf! Surround him!"

His confident voice appeared to give the others courage. They moved quickly to surround Anubis.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

A tense few seconds passed, but no one moved.

"Ready? Because I am." Anubis punched the air.

The axeman, who stood in the direction of the punch, was knocked backwards. His body splattered against the wall, painting it red with blood.

Incredible! He created a powerful blast of pressure by merely punching the air!

The spearman thrust his spear at Anubis's back. Lightning crackled at the spear's tip right before it struck.

The spearman used lightning to increase the penetrating ability of his attack. Anubis will definitely feel that.

"That tickled." Anubis twisted around and slammed his fist into the spearman's body. The punch produced a loud bang on impact. It blew a gaping hole in the spearman, sending him flying in the air like a rag doll.

Much to Deo's surprise, the lightning enhanced spear attack didn’t even scratch Anubis's body.

An arrow zipped pass Anubis' ear.

"What were you aiming at, the air?" Anubis strolled toward the archer.

The archer shot more arrows in rapid succession.

Anubis swatted them away like flies. Before he reached the archer, a fireball flew toward him from the side. Without stopping, he caught it in his hand and tossed it back at the mage who had shot it.

Deo watched in awe as the mage was struck and burned alive by the fireball.

The mage screamed and flailed his arms around for a few seconds, before collapsing. His corpse continued burning, filling the air with the smell of smoke and burnt flesh.

Anubis reached the archer. With a swing of his arm, he slapped him with enough force to crack the wall.

Then, the swordsman raised his sword, charged at Anubis, and slashed.

Anubis deflected the blow with a finger flick.

The swordsman continued attacking and Anubis continued flicking. After slashing a dozen times, the swordsman stopped to catch his breath. All his blows had been deflected.

Anubis raised his arm and flicked the swordsman’s forehead.

The swordsman’s head snapped backwards. His body crashed into the ground, rolling numerous times before coming to a stop.

"What are you people made of, paper?" Anubis had annihilated the group of armed men in less than a minute.

When he turned to leave, Deo began clapping. "What a magnificent display of strength! I can't believe you did it with one hand behind your back."

"I went overboard. One finger probably would've been enough."

As he watched Anubis walk away, Deo let out a deep sigh of relief. He was thankful that they were on the same side.

Anubis stopped. “When will I get a chance to fight them?”

“You mean the two strong enemies that the pre-invasion force encountered in the Dominion?”

“Yes.”

“Soon. Now that you’ve adjusted to your new body, we can commence the invasion.”
