The world of Rhyles was revealed to Earth when a rift opened between the two of them. Rhyles was a spectacle to Earth as the world seemed to defy all traditional laws of physics, being two flat planes suspended above each other. The native Rhylean people called the top plane Proxima and the bottom one Dista. Earth itself was also a spectacle to the Rhylean people as the people of Earth didn't possess inherent empyreal powers and relied heavily on technology to function. At first, relative peace was established between the two worlds, primarily out of fear of what the other would do. But as time went on, conflicts arose and the two worlds engaged in warfare, both loud and silent. 223 years After Rift (AR), Mathis, an orphan Rhylean boy, is sat on the edge of a bridge when it explodes. He miraculously survives the blast and wakes up on the world of Dista below. Unable to return home to Proxima, he is forced to integrate into a new life in the Distal city of Hagou. But as time passes, he gets wrapped up in the perpetual conflict between Earth and Rhyles and has to make decisions to affect not only his, but the two worlds' future.
