Ren’s day began just like any other high school student’s: a day he would’ve never have thought would be the reason the world would soon come to an end. After getting held up in school, Ren is unable to walk home with his best friend, Tye Ferris, allowing for the notorious delinquent known as Jonathan to get his revenge on Ren’s past actions through Tye. After Jonathan beats Tye senseless -- to the point of near death -- Tye’s thoughts become deranged as he begins to lose hope in humanity. Eventually Tye wishes Jonathan to disappear… and he does -- he has the power to alter the world! Tye, in a delirious state, becomes obsessed with the idea of ridding the world of “monsters” like Jonathan and decides to do that by using his newfound power to recreate the world as his own. After seeing Tye’s insanity, Ren refuses to help him; in result, darkness swallows him as he is forced into an entirely new world where he is recruited by their world’s goddess and is given the task of stopping Tye. Thus begins the story of Ren’s journey to kill his best friend in order to return the world back to the way it was originally.
