In the year 2033, humanity received advance notice of their induction into a game. A universe spanning conflict had finally dragged the Milky Way galaxy into its intrigues, and Earth was the next to be called to action. The options were to field voluntary champions, and to be left out of the game, or to be unwillingly drafted, dragging their entire world into the chaos of the system. Earth chose the first option, but the champions were rarely volunteers.
