Synopsis

"And so we prayed. We sank to our knees, offering promises, gifts, and sacrifices. For three days, silence reigned -- until the first king joined us in our devotion. The moment his brow touched pew and his oath was spoken the ground trembled. Our lord lifted the peninsula, sundering it from land an sea, conquering the skies above. Below us, the world shattered and rotted into decay, a grim fate for those who refused to kneel. Now we continue to pray. We swear our oaths, celebrate their name, and offer our services in their honor. For our lord will purge the world of the miasma below and, in time, return us to reclaim the world as its rightful stewards.-- A Monday morning sermon held by The Grand Order On the floating peninsula of Kumere 1920s industry clashes with supernatural forces. Greater Powers, unknowable in their intent, shape the world by their mere existence, hiding within it essence -- a strange, volatile force that grants extraordinary abilities to those who commune and twist those who falter into abominations. Following the catastrophic fall of Spearhead, the Wardens' strongest team, chaos spreads in Kumere. Essence fueled crimes surge, unrest brews in the industrial slums and Evermurk, and the Congregation begins a March of Purification, promising redemption to the damned -- or their destruction. As faith, rebellion, devotion, and survival collide the lines between monster and man blur leaving all in a desperate scramble to shape their own future or be torn from it entirely. --- I do not currently have any upload schedules, but I do have a small back log of chapters. Posts will be made every Sunday until the backlog is completed, although I can't promise the length of each post. I have a friend helping with edits, but he's doing it in his own time, and so posted chapters may have edits for style and prose at later times.
