Ding Wu winked and offered his fist. “Let’s make a Warrior’s Oath, that we’ll both continue to get stronger and once you get to the elemental stage of cultivation, we’ll challenge each other using elemental powers. My Lightning against… whatever Elemental power you unlock.”
Zen smirked. “Okay!” He fist bumped the older boy and with that a new promise was forged.
Now Wang Zen was standing across Ding Wu. He was now much taller, much stronger than when that promise was made.
“I’m surprised you remembered,” Zen said.
“I told you I would not forget.” Ding Wu smirked, still chewing his piece of wheat.
“Shibi,” Zen said, turning to Shibi, “You mind giving us some space.”
Shibi nodded. He walked away from the two and sat some distance away.
“I guess we can get this started.” Ding Wu took a fighting stance and Zen did the same.
For a moment, the two stood and watched each other.
Ding Wu dashed forward. They met and they started fighting, fists and forearms, elbows and knees, legs and feet, met and clashed as they tried decide who was the superior hand to hand fighter.
A young boy and girl passed by and stopped when they saw the action.
“Issat Brother Zen?” the little boy said, pointing excitedly.
“Yes,” the girl said, “and look he’s fighting Ding Wu.”
“Ugh, Wang Zen acting like a fool again.” A man said, walking behind his children. He had the same dark hair and eyes as his son and daughter. “Fraternizing with the help like this is humiliating. He might be a commoner but you would at least think he would act like his mother is a noble. Take note from your brother, Yin and Yan, this is how not to be.”

Zen and Ding Wu continued, not noticing or caring about the audience they had gained. Zen found an opening and planted his knee firmly into Ding Wu’s side. He then twisted his body, to throw a cross hook at his face. Ding Wu leaned back, dodging the fist and grabbing Zen’s arm. Continuing his falling motion, he whipped Zen into the ground.
Zen kicks Ding Wu’s hands away from his arms before rolling his feet. Ding Wu was already upon him. Zen found another opening when he dodged Ding Wu’s punch and countered with a powerful thrusting side-kick.
Ding Wu hurtled back but kept on his feet. He dropped his hand into a claw and gathered a large amount of ki. Then he dashed forward.
“I know this one!” Zen said as he jumped up to dodge the attack.
“That won’t help you escape!” Ding Wu slammed his attack on the ground Zen had stood on. The ground indented and energy exploded outward.
Zen used Dashing Tackle to move further up to dodge the resultant explosion. When the attack ended, he began another attack, aiming for Ding Wu.
“Meteor Kick!” Zen shouted as ki surrounded him and was sent shooting down toward Ding Wu!
Ding Wu dashed back, as the kick slammed against the ground, further indenting it and sending out an even wider explosion. Out of the debris, Zen dashed out of the debris with Dashing Tackle.
Ding Wu keeps stepping back before suddenly stopping.
Zen’s attack stops short, exactly where Ding Wu had stopped! Ding Wu got in his own powerful kick. Zen recovers and they continue fighting.
A woman rushed to the front. “What in the world is going on…” the woman had shoulder length black hair, soft brown eyes and big lips. Her annoyance turned to shock when she saw the fight. “Is that… Madam City Lord!” she called out. “Wang Zen is back!”
“My boy is back? I knew when Shibi vanished that we were going to see him soon.” Ling said, running towards where the woman who called to her was. She looked excited as she looked at her son, then her face twisted in confusion. “Is he fighting Ding Wu?”
She nodded.
“So, he comes back and instead of seeing his Mama, he fights my Captain of the Guard.” She shakes her head. “Jun Nee, where did I go wrong with this boy?”
Jun Nee shrugged a smile on her face.
Zen activated Blitz Punch. Ding Wu covered his body with his hands and tucked his head low. The numerous punches throttled into his body. Zen then kicked him in the chest, causing him to jump back where he clutched his chest.
“I see you’re still untouchable in hand to hand combat, Master Wang.”
Zen smirked, “I don’t know, Ding Wu, seems like you threatened me a few times there.”
“Well, let’s kick it up a notch?” Ding Wu said, just before electricity crackled all around him.
Zen gulped. Last time, this was the point which he had lost the fight…
