CHAPTER 55: ENQUIRES BY A CONCERNED FRIEND
Jiahai knocked on the door before peering in. Li Ao, who sat cross-legged on his bed opened an eye to look at nervous Jiahai.
“Hey look, it’s Wang Zen’s friend… uhm…”
Deng Ai looked up from the book he was reading, to look at Jiaha. “Chu Jiahai.”
Jiahai tilted his head in pleasant surprise, “You know my name?”
“Nothing misses Ai’s eye.”
Deng Ai marked the page he was reading and placed his book down. “I’m sorry Chu Jiahai but Wang Zen isn’t here.”
“Really? We had a hunt planned but he did not show up at the spot where we usually meet.”Jiahai explained.
“He was here a few hours ago,” Li Ao said, reaching for a comb and lengthening his quiff. “He dropped off Shibi and took that small sword of his and left.”
“Took his sword,” Jiahai repeated t himself. “Where’s Shibi?”

“Left a few minutes after Zen did.” Li Ao said.
“Thanks,” Jiahai said. “Hey, is that Zen’s shirt?”
-
Jiahai had this nagging feeling in him. He was worried about Wang Zen. Why would he arm himself and leave Shibi behind? For a moment, he was afraid that maybe he had gone after Chen Jian but dismissed the thought. Wang Zen wouldn’t be that stupid. Would he?
He walked to his dorm room and got a black bag from under his bed before leaving. Once away from his dorm he opened up the bag and was met by a pair of curios silver eyes.
“Hey Rizon,” he patted the dog’s head and it licked his palm. “Rizon, I need you to do something for me.”
The dog barked.
Jiahai smiled, “Good.” He presented the shirt he had taken from Zen’s room and presented it to the dog.
The dog sniffed at the garment before barking again.
“Good, let’s go!” Jiahai said before the dog walked out of the bag and led him away.
-
A few minutes later Jiahai stood before the entrance to the academy’s forest.
“Rizon, are you sure that Wang Zen is in there?”
The dog looked back at its master and barked.
“I mean… Wang Zen surely would not be dumb enough to go in there alone.” Jiahai said. “Although, it would explain why he took his sword.”
Jiahai moaned as he fished out a low quality storage crystal. He touched it and a moment later a hunting knife appeared in his hand in flashes of yellow light.
“Alright, let’s go hunting for Zen.” Jiahai looked at Rizon and nodded. “Alright Rizon, lead the way!”
Rizon barked excitedly before trotting into the forest, followed by its master.
