CHAPTER 165: A BOY AND HIS DOG… KIND OF
Wang Zen spied on Xu Hua. It was a nerve wracking experience. He had never had a good experience with the girland willingly being this close to her was uncomformtable. To ensure that he would not be easily spotted, he left Shibi to his own devices.
He saw Xu Hua meet up with her boyfriend, Hao Meng. They then met up with the rest of their friends, which included Jian Chen. Wang Zen was surprised, to see that Xue Shaonu was not part of the group. He figured she probably had other friends which made Zen happy as it meant that she did not hang out with Jian Chen more than he did.
He watched them and looked around, hoping to see Hue Yi somewhere. He was sure the obsessed creep was spying on Xu Hua. He saw Chen Jian say something to Hao Meng who nodded and left the group.
Zen shook his head and made sure his killing intent was inline and hidden. It was. He shook his head in annoyance. “Who the hell is this guy to order around Hao Meng like the punk he is.”
“My friend.”
Zen jumped as he looked behind him. Standing there was Hao Meng, with his arms folded. “Hao Meng?”
“Don’t you mean-” Hao Meng began as he grabbed Zen by the scruff of his clothes and yanked him to his feet, “-punk?”
“N-N-N…”
“What’s going on here?”
Zen heard the familiar female voice that made him sweat.
“I found this piece of trash spying on us.” Hao Meng said as Zen turned around to look at Xu Hua who was walking to them with Chen Jian following behind. “Chen Jian told me he was here.”
“He’s efforts at spying are still a blundering mess.” Chen Jian said.
Zen’s killing intent flowed out of him but when Xu Hua stood in front of him, his killing intent was smothered in fear.
“What are you doing here?” Xu Hua said.
“Yeah, why are you spying on my girlfriend again, trash?”
“Again?” he said. “I’ve never spied on her until now!”
Zen saw the stern look on her face.
“I-I mean, I’m not spying on her.” He said. He then looked out and began waving.
“What’s he doing?” Hao Meng said.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“I think he is calling out to someone.” ChenJian said, they all looked to the person Wang Zen was desperately waving to.
Hue Yi was walking to the group, one of hiseyebrows cocked up past the circularshades he always wore.
“Hue Yi!” Zen creid happily.
“Xu Hua!” Hue Yi cooed.
“Joy,” Hao Meng rolled his eyes. “Perverts Unite!”
“I suggest you don’t call me a pervert, Hao Meng.”Hue Yi said, as his ki began roiling.
“You are what you are.” Hao Menng said. “And you are a pervert.”
Wang Zen was forgotten for a moment and he was able to free himself from Hao Meng’s grasp where he ran to hide behind Hue Yi’s back. This made both Hao Meng and Hue Yi stop their feud. “Hue Yi, I was actually looking for you!”
“I’ll deal with you later,” Hue Yi said before returning his attention to Xu Hua. “So, Xu Hua, I have a picnic planned with all your favourite foods. How about you ditch Rock for Brains and come with me?”
“What did you call me?” Hao Meng said.
“Comeon you two,” Xu Hua said in annoyance. “Stop this. And Hue Yi, keep your dogon a leash, make sure it stays far away from Chen Jian and Hao Meng.”
Xu Hua and her group walked away. Wang Zen peeked from Hue Yi’s back to glare at the back of Chen Jian’s head, who was also walking away.
Zen sighed in relief. “Thanks, Hue Yi, you saved me.”
“I didn’t do anything.” Hue Yi said as he began walking away. “But you have sullied my good name to the lovely Xu Hua.”
“What?”Zen said as he began to follow. “How have I done that?”
“Xu Hua now believes you are my dog.”
“You know you say that as if you’re the one who has been insulted,” Wang Zen said, “and not me, the person who is being called a dog!”
“And what’s wrong with being a dog?” Hue Yi said. “They’re cute, they’re fluffy, they’re loyal and they’ll lick peanut butter off of almost anything.”
“I don’t think you know how much that doesn’t sound like a compliment!” Zen said.
“So why do you want to tak here?” Zen said. He had followed Hue Yi to a quiet shaded area away from prying eyes.
“It quiet here and away from… them.” Hue Yi nodded towards his left.
Zen followed the direction of his nod and saw the a group of enforcers.
“So, Wang Zen, why have you been spying on the love of my life?” Hue Yi said. “Or do I have another challenger for the heart of the lovely Xu Hua?”
“What?” Zen said. “Me and Xu Hua? No way! Never!”
“Understandable,” Hue Yi said, tapping on the head of Zen. “Its normal for young boys to be afraid of mature women.”
“Hmpf, more like you have bad taste in women.” He said under his breath as Hue Yi was riffling his hair.
“What?”
“Nothing!” Zen said. “I wanted to tell you something… or ask you something.”
Hue Yi withdrew his hand at the seriousness of Zen’s voice. “Yeah?”
“Some time ago, Lou Shan asked me about the mask I gave you.” Zen said. “Aparrently someone in the Black Cloth Gang was using it.”
“Someone, huh?” Hue Yi smiled while touching a storage stone. “Seems like you already know who.” Balls of light appeared near his hand before his short sword materialised. “Oh well, couldn’t be helped I guess, you were the one who gave me the mask afterall. No choice now.”
Zen gulped as Hue Yi raised the sword then… used it as a backrub. “Ah, that hits the spot.”
“What’s your problem?” Zen said in surprise. “Why would you scare me like that?”
Hue Yi shrugged, trying not to laugh.
“But this is serious!” Zen said. “What do I say when Lou Shan or anyone asks me again?”
“What did you tell Lou Shan?”
“I told her I don’t know anything.”
“Then I suggest you stick to that story, lest you incriminate yourself.”
Zen gulped.
“You’ll be okay.” Hue Yi said as he began walking away. “If your not involved, keep your head down and you’ll come out of this unscathed.”
“What even is this?” Zen to his back.
“Don’t you know?” he said, his form growing further away. “This is a storm.”
