CHAPTER 129: TRUE FRIEND

Geyi Kun was paralysed by the killing intent from Wang Zen but she shrugged it off and forced a smile on her face. “So you are able to recover.” She raised her thick fist. “A shame, I really thought that shot would have taken you out.”

“Geyi Kun, is this really you?” Zen said, as Shibi returned to his shoulder.

She spread her ars out as if introducing herself, “In the flesh.”

“Fine,” Zen said. He looked at Shibi, “Shibi, help Xue Shaonu take the hyenas. I’ll deal with Geyi Kun.”

Shibi moved from Zen’s shoulder to Shaonu’s. Shaonu looked at him from behind. Although initially she would have wanted to fight Kun on her own, at the moment, Zen was the best person to do it. He still had both his arms and it seemed that he was much more determined than last time.

“Wang Zen, be careful.” She said.

He nodded without looking back and charged forward.

“Kill the princess and the monkey!” Kun said to her two remaining hyenas. “I’ll quickly dispatch of this one.”

The hyenas and Zen passed each other as the headed for their true target.

Kun began moving forward, her speed greatly increased thanks to her power boost. Her leg swept around in a kick. Zen blocked and was sent sliding back, dropping to one knee in the process. Kun launched forward like a human missile. He jumped up, dodging her as she stopped right below him.

“Blitz Punch!” Punches throttled into her back and she grunted as she landed on the floor before jumping straight up.

Zen was swept up in her motion and was sandwitched between the ceiling and her, creating a crater where he crashed into the ceiling. As he was falling, Kun twisted around and punched him away. Zen landed roughly, rollig along the ground. He got up, grimacing at the pain as Kun pursued.

Zen blocked her hits, feeling his forearms going numb with each powerful strike. She forced an opening and kicked him in the gut sending him further back.

Zen looked back, the wall was getting close. He backed up as Kun chased him down. She threw a punch and he ducked under it, allowing it to smash a whole in the wall behind him. With the opening, he uppercutted her, sending her stumbling back.

“Blitz Punch!” He punched at her with multiple punches in the space of a second and while she reeled from that, he also added a kick. She stumbled even further away before her fist began sparkling.

Zen knew to avoid the Sparkling Jab as he came forward.

Kun thrust her hand out and the ki technique flew from her hand. He barely dodged it, his eyes widening in confusion. He did not even know it was possible to launch the Sparkling Jab, that was when he knew that Geyi Kun had truly mastered the technique.

He closed the gap between them, dodging another flying Dazzling Jab before he punched her away.

“Damn you, Wang Zen!” she spat. “Mind Thorn!” A spike of ki grew from her forehead and she shot it out.

Zen countered it, and it vanished. Kun’s eyes widened in shock and anger at having seen that Zen had countered her move with her very own knife. With her head already low, Zen kicked her in the face before running past her only to deliver a back kick, that sent her face first into the wall.

He turned around only to be surprised to herr charging at him. She swept him up her arms, smashing his back into the last remaining, unbroken furniture. Zen could feel multiple Mind Thorns being thrust into him in the process, making it harder for him to breath.

She let him go and he was sent sailing along the ground. With great difficult, he got to his feet, struggling to even breath. He knew he could not take any more of those Thorns lest he died. His vision was already beginning to slightly blur.

She charged at him again and he stood there with a far awa look in his eyes. At the last moment he sidestepped her and she punched the door to the outside into splinters. He got up close to her while she was still off balance.

“Blitz Punch!” He thrusted more than 100 punches at her, sending her stumbling away. He danced around her, hitting her as she tried to catch him. He dodged her flying Dazzling Jabs and dissipated her ki thorns with the her kunai he had in his possession.

She may have been stronger and smarter than he, but he was a better hand to hand fighter.Gei Kun swayed unceasingly and Zen knew the battle was over. He thrust a punch forward to finish her off and she blocked it with her oalm on his fist.

He paused, looking at their hands. His eyes softened as he gazed at Geyi Kun and began to cry.

“G-Geyi Kun! Why do we have to do this!”

“Cause you are protecting her and I want to kill her.”

“You don’t have to.” He said, withdrawing his punch. “Just stop this. I’ll protect you against whoever is making you do this.”

She began to laugh at hearing that. “I am Ninja. My whole life I have been trained for one thing. No one is making me do this, this is who I am, who I have been made to be.”

“Then be something else!” he said through tears. “Be something that I don’t hvave to fight! Be my friend again!”

“Haven’t you realised? I was never your friend.”

Kun thrust one pf her powerful punches again. Zen blocked it, the ki exchanged between them pulsing out. He placed her arm around his shoulder and threw her on the snowy ground. With his fist drawn back but he could not bring himself to finish her off.

She smiled up at him. “You stopped my punches,” she said, impressed.

“Yeah, it took me using as much power as I could and veen then, it almost broke my arms.”

“Then do it.” She said. “Be the hero for your love and finish me off.”

He grabbed her and pulled her to her feet. “I’m not going to finish you off. But you better leave and you better not come back.”

She looked at him in confusion. “Your-Your letting me go?”

“Kun Kun, you’re a liar. One of the best.” He said. “So I don’t believe you when you said you said our friendship was all a lie.” He pointed at the centre of her chest. “I know my true friend is somewhere there. That’s who I am letting go.”

Kun stepped back from his grasp. At that moment, all the extra power she got dies into nothing, leaving her weaker than before.she looked at her hands and smiled, “just in time.”

“Go. Quickly.” Zen said before turning around. He began heading back into the house when he stopped. He was suddenly aware of some great killing intet washing over him.

He heard a screech and then Silicy came charging out of the house. Her black pupils had dilated as she screeched madly. She charged from the living quarters, an aura of chilling air surrounding her like a comet surrounded by fire.

Zen realised that she was going for Kun. “No!” He shouted, as he tried to plant his feet into the ground.

Ice crept over Zen as the bird charged for them. His power weakend, his ki giving way to the cold before he was blown away.

“No!” he shouted as he was sent spinning in the air.

Silicy’s beak extended with white ki. A weakned Kun could only watch in horro as she was frozen in place before the long beak lanced into her chest, lifting her body off the ground before throing it back down, lifeless.

“Geyi Kun!” he shouted but it was too late.

Zen sat on the snow, allowing the cold to creep up his body as she looked at Kun’s corpse.

“Wang Zen,” Shaonu said, walking out of the house with Shibi on her shoulder. “We were able to do it. We defeated the hyenas.”

He forced a smileas he looked at her, “Good.”

Shibi left Shaonu and sat on his shoulder. His eyes widened. “Oh no, Chu Jiahai!” he got up.

“Yes, we must tell everyone that he is innocent.”

“No, not that.” he said. “He told me that Chen Jian was planning on attacking his beasts. I need to help them.”

“I can’t come.” Shaonu said. “I need to stay here and explain the dead body.”

Zen took one last look at Geyi Kun and nodded at her.

“Wait!” she said, stopping him midrun. “Take this,” she handed him her white scroll that she had used to summon Silicy. “Tell Chen Jian that I say Chu Jiahai is innocent.”

He nodded, “Thank you Xue Shaonu.” He ran off before he could hear her reply.

“No, thank you, Wang Zen.” She said but at that time she said that, he was already gone.
