CHAPTER 124: CHOOSE A SIDE WANG ZEN
“You okay, Wang Zen?” Hue Yi asked the bloodied boy.
“How dare you attack us!” one the boys shouted.
“And a sneak attack at that!” the other said. “You scum!”
They both attacked him.
“Excuse me, Wang Zen.” Hue Yi said before returning his attention to the attacking duo. Ki gathered in each of Hue Yi’s blades, making them glow white before he slashed them in a cross. “Mounting X-Slash!” the path of the blades crossed and created an ‘X’ that flew fast for the boys. The x-shaped ki grew larger the further it travelled until it was the side of a man. The boys tried to leap out of the way but one was caught in the attacks wake, disappearing in an explosion of ki and debris.
“No!” The remaining boy shouted in horror. He had to leap back as he instinctively dodged a blade swiping for him. The boy looked at Hue Yi, his circular shades reflecting his fear. He gritted his teeth as he gathered his ki in his fist. “Stone Punch!”
“Mid Ki Slash!” Hue Yi swiped his blade and crescent shaped ki leapt out of the swing of his blade to meet the Stone Punch.
The two techniques met and there was a sparkling explosion. Hue Yi had to leap up to dodge the follow up Stone Punch. He countered with another Mid Ki Slash from the air and his opponent dissipated it with another Stone Fist.
Hue Yi landed before him. “That’s one impressive Stone Punch,” Hue Yi remarked in genine surprise. “Zen, you actually took one of those head on. Man, I better get more serious or I’m going to get left behind by all of you.”
“You can’t stop my Stone Punch! You can’t stop me at all!” The boy said before his fists blazed in ki.
Hue Yi smirked. “If I can’t beat you, then I’ll have no chance against my rival.” He said as ki began gathering in one of his blades. The ki grew so much that it began thickening around the blade. They both rushed for each other.
“Boulder Strike!”
“True Ki Sword Thrust!”
Hue Yi’s attack parted the other boy’s hands and diverted his ki energy, while the point of the blade found a home right into the boy’s shoulder. The boy screamed as he stumbled back onto his butt. He hled his shoulder, desperately trying to keep the blood back.
Hue Yi relaxed, placing the blunt side of his sword on his shoulder. “Nice try,” he said. “But no matter how powerful that particular move is, my move will always be its weakness.”
“Resl brave of you,” the downed boy said, bitterly. “Attacking me, an unarmed opponent with your sword.”
Hue Yi raised an eyebrow passed the borders of his circular shades. “You are telling me this? A boy who ganged up on a much younger and wweaker opponent with his friends who are equally if not more powerful. If you want to preach, I suggest you go to a place where no one knows your sins, cause this person isn’t listening.” Hue Yi sheathed his sword. “In any case, I think this beating will suffice.”

Zen watched everything in silence, aazed at Hue Yi’s power and skill.
“Wang Zen! Wang Zen!”
He looked to see Geyi Kun running to him. “Kun Kun, you called Hue Yi.”
“He was the closest person.” Kun said. “I hope you don’t mind, when I saw those…”
He touched her shoulder and smiled. “Thanks.” Zen’s feet felt wealk and he collapsed forward. “Wang Zen…!”
The door to Zen’s room opened and a red blur rushed in and jumped on Zen, causing him to grimace at the pain.
“Hey hey hey,” Miss Hong said, looking at Shibi, “stop that! He may still be injured. Oh, who am I kidding, I’m so talented that he is probably fully healed, so… carry on.”
And that is what Shibi did as he continued to jump on Zen.
“Shibi!” Zen scolded and Shibi stopped.
“You really shouldn’t encourage that kind of behaviour, Miss Hong.” Jiahai said as he entered the room with Rizon in tow.
Shibi hissed at the hound and Ragged Jackal growled.
“Keep your beasts under control,” Miss Hong said as she left the room. “This is a medical facility, not a zoo.”
Jiahai looked at Zen, his good humoured smile disappearing. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Zen rolled his eyes. “I told Geyi Kun that I was fine and did not need to come here but she insisted.”
“You going to talk crap about me, Crooked Nose?” Geyi Kun said as she entered the room.
“Pfft, I don’t need to talk crap about you, not when everyone can see how much of a crappy person you are.” Zen retaliated.
“Yeah, you keep talking, Ugly.” Kun said. “If you get good enough, aybe you can convince some dumb girl to carry your kids.”
Jiahai looked at the two in confusion. “You two are friends?”
“Come Shibi,” Zen said, causing Shibi to return o his puerch at his shoulder. “We don’t have time to lie on this bed. We have an assassin to catch.”
The three walked out of his room, discussing and arguing about the Black Cloak Assassin. They had to stop when they saw someone familiar walking towards them.
Zen’s killing intent was already roiling as the boy came closer.
“Wang Zen, I knew it was you.” Chen Jian said in disgust. “I’m starting to get used to your killing intent and the cowardice that comes with it.”
“I’m no coward,” Zen said.
“That remains to be seen.” Chen looked at Jiahai. “I see you have sided with the Blak Cloaked Assassin.”
“I am not the assassin!” Jiahai said. “I hae no reason to want Xue Shaonu dead.”
“You and Wang Zen have never done anything, like you helping Xuan Bao spy on me, or when you tried to kill Xue Shaonu, or Wang Zen supporting your inncocents when it is so painfully obvious that you are guilty.”
“Who are you to decide who is guilty?” Zen snapped.
“I saved Xue Shaonu enough times to know who is a threat to her.”
“That does not mean you own her.” Zen said. “If anything, I’ve saved her more times than you!”
“So does that mean you own me?”
Zen’s killing intent died down at the new voice. He looked at Xue Shaonu who waled towards them. “Xue-Xue Shaonu, that’s not… that’s not…”
“The last time I checked, we saved each other quite a few times.” She said as she stood with them but next to Chen Jian. “So, who owns who, Wang Zen?”
“That’s what I meant, Xue Shaonu. Honest!”
She looked at Jiahai, who fidgeted under her gaze. “So, you are Chu Jiahai.”
Jiahai nodded. “I’sorry for what happened to you but it was not me.”
“You’ll excuse me if I don’t believe you yet.” She turned to Chen. “Chen Jian, let’s leave please.”
Chen Jian nodded, “You can’t be on both sides Wang Zen. You’ll have t choose.” He said before they both left, leaving Wang Zen to look at their backs as they.
Zen clenched his fist. “We have tofind who this assassin is, so that we can erase the smugness of that guy.”
“And to prove your friend is innocent,” Kun said in a scolding manner.
Jiahai smiled while shaking his head, before walking off, followed by Geyi Kun.
“Ah… yes! Of course! That’s the main reason why.” Zen said as he followed after them.
