Chapter 0. Impact

Chapter 0. Impact

It was an early Sunday morning in his farm house out of the city, a forty five year old David Blackwell saw heard the massive Boom, he looked outside, he looked outside and saw a what looked like a massive wall of pure black behind some of the distant skyscrapers, he looked up through the window and saw it saw it was a huge sword that towered miles upon miles in above the sky scrapers, and it just seemed to be... Shrinking? No, judging from the rumbling in the ground it was going deeper into the earth.

David ran over to his safe, took out the old revolver that was his great great grandfather's, and the box of ammo, that was next to it, and his old military backpack that was reduced to a bugout bag, he checked the cylinder, loaded, he snapped it closed and walked outside, seeing a few neighbors doing the same. he looked up at the sun, looked like there was an oval hole on it, giving it the look of a cats eye. He looked around them noticed a golden... Screen, In front of him.

> [greetings, I am Sol.]

> [I have been charged with your protection, you're upon a planet that is about to be corrupted beyond anything that resembled your home, you have two minutes before the corruption starts to spread from the sword, I can protect you from the corruption, but I cannot protect you if you don't accept my help. I am sorry that I cannot do more for you my children, but have been gravely wounded, please, accept this little bit of help from me, I don't want to see you all destroyed.]

>

> [Accept] [Deny]

David shook his head, this was fucking insane, but then again, there was a fucking sword in the world, if there was to be somekind of plague that'd start spreading then fuck it, he'd had harder choices in the trenches back in 2026, plus in that war he'd learned to trust his gut, and it was saying to press the damn button. He pressed accept.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

He looked around seeing a couple of his neighbors staring at thin air, and tapping stuff.

He saw a second screen...

David scratched his head. "What the Sam hell?" He'd seen people play video games before, hell he'd played many when he was younger, but this was just bizarre. He focused on this choose class option.

choose class

You are qualified for the following classes.

[Thug] ⭐

[Fighter] ⭐⭐

[Paladin] ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

[Juggernaut] ⭐⭐⭐

[Soldier] ⭐⭐⭐⭐

[Gunslinger] ⭐⭐⭐

[Hunter] ⭐

[Thief] ⭐

David looked them over. thought about it for a while before picking gunslinger, he was tempted to go with soldier but he wasn't sure if that meant a medieval soldier with spears and tabards or a modern soldier with machine guns and grenades. He might have taken paladin but he wasn't sure what that entailed.

He looked up, seeing the city looked, darker than normal, he took off his bag and took out some binoculars. He looked toward the city, and adjusted them accordingly, it looked like... Cracks? Maybe black Vines? He could see them moving... He looked at his watch, it's been two minutes. Was this the corruption? Well, he guessed they were gonna find out.
