Synopsis
First time I saw it I was only six.
I noticed it as I was going out to play in our front yard; it looked like a small gray cloudlike patch in the clear sky up above my head.
Ever since that day, the small cloudlike patch has always caught my eye, up until today that I’m thirty-six. Still, every time I go outside as I look up, I see it right above my head. Never changing.
I notice it high up in the sky every day when I leave the house. I can’t exactly tell how big or how far up it is. Only that since it tends to disappear on cloudy days, I’d have to guess that it should be at least there at the same level with the clouds or perhaps even higher.
When I was in my teens I tried shooting the gray patch a couple of times with my father’s hunting rifle that I had secretly snatched from his room. 008- But I could never tell if the bullets I fired actually hit the thing or not.
I even bought a $3000 Quadcopter two years ago so I could get close enough to the gray patch remotely; the same cloud that had been chasing me all my life. That way, I could finally unravel the biggest mystery that had haunted me forever, but…
just as I was reaching the point nearest to the patch, something rang in my ears, I started feeling dizzy, my vision went black and I passed out.
Within minutes, I found myself lying on my front yard; I woke up on the same spot that I was standing... my 3-grand quadcopter was there a few feet away, on the ground, smashed to pieces. I looked up at the sky, the gray cloudlike patch was still there.
Even though I couldn’t get close enough to the patch to discover its nature that day, at least I learned two things;
One, it doesn’t want me to get close...
Two, it has a certain control over me. It would have been impossible for me to suddenly faint at such a crucial moment.
After this whole setback, I thought to myself that perhaps it’s not the gray patch that’s chasing me, and instead, it’s me who’s inadvertently going after the thing, all the while controlling it.
To be not continued.
