November 2032 -
Today was the day, Twilight Abyss was being released.
I looked at my alarm clock, which had yet to go off.
"6.00 AM, huh. For once I managed to get up earlier." I said, as I slowly got up from my king-sized bed and started to get dressed, casual jeans and a plain white top, nothing could go wrong.
I start to plan out my day, 'Shop opens at 7, 15 minutes to reach the shop, 20 minutes to make breakfast eat it and go, the game servers open at 7:30 so I have enough time to get back take a quick shower and start playing.'
I started making my breakfast, a simple bowl of porridge, and turn on the T.V while eating, Watching the news, or at least like any other day, 1 or 2 new stories and the rest is repeated, the weather is forecasted to be sunny for the rest of the week, 'too bad Twilight Abyss comes out today.' I thought to myself.
Finishing my breakfast, I look at the time, 6:32, 'Well, best head off now.' I thought as I walked to the door, putting on my worn trainers.
Walking to the door and unlocking it, I noticed its the same as always, Despite the time of day, New York doesn't change, early in the morning will look the same as at night, lots of people walking and driving, congestion on the streets, horns beeping 24/7, everyone complaining as if they were getting paid for it.
Closing my door I started heading down the street towards the shop, walking along I looked at my reflection inside the shop windows.
---------Change of POV----------
His straight black hair at shoulder length with a short fringe, his bright green eyes hiding under slightly trim eyebrows which seemed as if they were sculpted as a natural extension of his broad nose, his slightly open lips gives off a vibe as if he would be friendly, all this just sitting above his pointed chin, below his head is his broad shoulders, doing adequate exercise gave him a tanned body and slightly toned muscles, along with the way he acts and walks makes him look slightly disciplined and less impulsive, all of this was packed into his 6'4'' body.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
--------Change of POV-----------
'I probably should've taken a shower before setting off... Ah well, it's too late for that.' I thought to myself.
After around 15 minutes of walking, I looked at my silver Rolex on my wrist, 6:53.
Seeing that it would open in 7 minutes I joined the small queue.
Twilight Abyss wasn't like other VR games, it had several hundreds of servers worth of content and data, not to mention that the AI alone will take up 200+ servers, I know all this because it's basically my job, I am what people would call an information broker, I look at all aspects, I've even been in contact with some beta players who sold me information which I could sell on for easy profits, of course, the beta players only got basic access, the human race only and the class of swordsman/mage/rogue, but from sources that I know they is as many as 20 races that I know of and the races you will be given could be random and you have a choice of over 200 classes, of which only 10-20 are available while the rest are either hidden classes or class advancements, but a piece of key information that I've been unable to secure is the level at which you can perform a class advancement.
Slowly the shop started to open, inside the shop was very spacious with 15 sales attendants.
A sales attendant walked up to me while I was admiring the shop.
"Would you like to purchase the game? if so what type, we currently have available, Standard, which includes the game only, Delux, which comes with a map and 10 gold pieces or VIP which comes with a gaming cabin instead of a standard headset, a map of the empire you spawn within and 20 pieces of gold."
It was at that moment that I noticed the sales attendant was a young woman around the age of 20.
"I'll take VIP" I responded, I already knew the prices, after all being an information broker isn't for nothing, I sell information and buy it, of course, I've been doing this for years and I have enough money to last a few lifetimes.
"$30,000, is that all or would you like anything else?" The young woman responded.
"That's fine." I said as I took out my wallet and inserted my card and paid for it, the other things they were selling we basically accessories, that can be both used in-game and outside the game.
I walked home to find the delivery man had already reached my house and was waiting.
I open my door and helped the delivery man to bring the gaming cabin inside my house, before leaving I gave him a tip $50, after all, it wasn't easy to deliver gaming cabins all day.
After the installation I got inside and started the game.
"Start."
