Orbiting over a stricken world, blighted by the hubris of their ancestors, an isolated group of alien scientists work tirelessly to repair the creatures and ecosystems of the planet over which they stand vigil, but their work is fallen into obscurity in the wake of more successful colonisation, and more recent first contact events. Left to their own devices, they have all but forgotten their secondary purpose of enforcing a quarantine of the dangerous mutated creatures which inhabit the planet.  Into the this Sleepy powder keg flies the ship Get'em While They're Hot, a prospecting vessel for an unknown expansionist, alien empire. A Ship manned by a skeleton crew (not literally skeletons, but you know, severely undermanned) of downtrodden engineers, and disillusioned astronomers and, captained by a command staff of cunning but short sighted entrepreneurs. Looking to claim colonisation rights, they unknowingly break this quarantine and now both groups must deal with the consequences, diplomatic, epidemiological, and political.
