Terrence Winkworth, a young man who only finds something approximate to happiness in quiet solitude, is pulled across the world by a friend’s wedding. In his typical manner, Terrence accidentally messes up the plans, only to find himself on a very different sort of trip. Terrence, the book’s narrator, relates his harrowing tale.
