Synopsis
In the prosperous kingdom of Gaurant, a loving wife gives birth to a beautiful baby boy.
Marvalo Telnoth, second son to King Telnoth of Gaurant, finds himself disturbingly lucid as he’s pulled from his mother’s womb.
As he grows up, he’ll have to sort out the jumbled memories and morals of a past life, and manage the expectations of the new one that’s been thrust upon him. Fortunately, he has a loving family to help guide him. But all good things come to an end — and Marvalo’s cushy home life will be invaded by war, famine, and political intrigue. The Second Prince of Gaurant will have to fight to keep his head above the water, as well as fight to keep his homeland from becoming a twisted shadow of its former self. The trials and hardships imposed on him by life as an heir to the monarchy will force him to question his own character, as well as that of the people he’s grown to love.
