To Be a Hero: The Devils Among Us  tells the tales of a Vanator--a hunter of magic, magical beasts, and all those who practice the dark arts. It begins with him telling the reader about the elation he feels watching these devils be burnt alive but by the end of the first case that is all revealed to be a lie. The truth is, this Vanator gets no pleasure from condemning these demons to their fiery deaths. He believes it is what must be done but cannot deny the sympathy he feels for some of the monsters.  So far, the story follows the Vanator through 9 cases (A Small Town Tragedy, A Suffering City, A Position of Power, A Feathered Flame, A Frightening Forest, A Sailor’s Sight, A Lovely Lady, and A Heddinton Horror) as well as 1 chapter that shares his backstory. These stories follow him as he finds his sense of identity and allies himself with new partners. In most of the cases the devils are clearly evil, in some they are merely beasts living their lives, and a few are much more morally grey.  I plan tor release each case in 2 parts with Bi-weekly releases. Hopefully that will give me time to build on the backlog I already have and put together more stories once I catch up with what I have written ahead of time.
