Jonas Grumby, shipwrecked on a deserted island in the Caribbean for almost two months, gets rescued by a passing freighter.  To pass the time as the ship heads back to civilization, Jonas and the colorful crewmembers swap stories about their lives, loves, and adventures.  But everything is not quite as it first appears, and Jonas is left to figure out what exactly is so strange about this ship and these sailors.
